Help stop BCP Council from closing Solent Meads Golf Course

BCP wish to close this much loved facility at the end of the current lease in 2026 - Despite having no plans for the site in the future.

Solent Meads Golf Course opened in 1961 overlooking picturesque Hengistbury Head with breath-taking views of Christchurch Priory, Mudeford Quay and the Isle of Wight, and is a great asset to the community. Used by all ages and many generations. Where all are welcome, no dress codes or expensive memberships.

If you’re from Bournemouth and play golf you probably started out or have played at Solent Meads Golf Course at some point.

Being a beautiful open coastal space the area is also enjoyed by walkers, dog owners and visitors.

The Lunar Eclipse from last night was a bit of a challenge as I wanted to head to a spot where no one else was likely to be, in an attempt to keep it unique. My final decision was to simply head down to my local beach and use one of the wooden groins to line up the image, and also allowed for some lovely reflections too.
