So as not to attract too much attention from the authorities (as Turkmenistan is tightly controlled) I did most of the filming on my little DJI Pocket Osmo. This meant that there are some sound limitations but, conversely, I was able to obtain great footage of a city that few tourists have ever visited.

What a joy to film Ann and Derek's Gretna Green Wedding this week - not a dry eye in the house, especially when Buddy Holly's True Love Ways filled the room. Ironically the happy couple had watched my Hurtigruten film on "Travel Obscurer" before sailing up the Norwegian coast and getting engaged in Trondheim.

Silverware returns to Gretna! What a privilege it has been to film the incredible progress made by Gretna FC 2008 this season. To see the hard work put in by the players, the management and the volunteers rewarded with a trophy was magical.

As Dumfries and Galloway continues to enjoy warm sunshine spare a thought for Barrow (Utqiagvik) Alaska where temperatures are still below freezing. It was only 3 months ago that I was filming there at temperatures of 30 degrees below. Still, it was well worth it. I've had great feedback from Ilisagvik College and if you want a crash course in Inupiat culture then this is the film for you!
