We've just received some more stock of Fiesta! by Iain Farrington. Combat the gloom and doom with a bit of "merry-making" and play something "unashamedly joyous" 😉

Fiesta is music about celebrations and merry-making. In seven short movements, the mood is unashamedly joyous, ranging from wild excitement to intimacy. Despite the title, there are no Spanish elements in the music.

Fiesta can be performed on any two manual organ, and requires simple stop changes in only two movements. Registrations are suggestions, and may be elaborated at will. Movements can be performed separately, in various groups, or as a suite.

Margaret Silver 1935 - 2026

It is with great sadness that we learnt of the death of Margaret Silver on 14th May. Ramsay and Margaret founded Banks Music Publications in 1972 after purchasing the publishing arm of Banks & Son in York. Margaret's background was in nursing, and perhaps it was partly that no-nonsense Nursing Sister approach as much as her steadfast support of Ramsay that helped make Banks Music Publications a major name in choral and organ music publishing. After Ramsay died in 1996, Margaret continued to run the business until her retirement in February 2014.

"Margaret was a force of nature, a "do-er" and one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met. She believed strongly in the "pay it forward" principle - just one of the many things she taught me. I miss her sense of humour and infectious laugh, and will be forever grateful for the support she gave me, both professionally and personally, over the 25 years we worked together." - Rosemary Goodwin

We’re delighted to reveal the theme of our summer concerts! 𝐀 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 is beautiful programme of choral music inspired by the landscapes, stories and songs of our region. Sublime sacred pieces combine with evocative folk songs to celebrate the richness of choral music written by composers from across the region.
