People often say, “I’m struggling to get any leads through my website right now.”

Here’s the truth: it won’t happen by magic.
Having a site that looks good, builds trust, and showcases what you do is important but that alone won’t bring in the leads. The real work happens when you get crystal clear on a few key things:

Who is this for?

What kind of person actually needs to hear about your offer?

How is what you do going to change their life or business?

And just as important what makes you different from everyone else out there?

Maybe it’s that you’re local. Maybe it’s that hundreds of people already trust you and you’ve got the testimonials to prove it. Whatever it is, lean into it.

Your website should speak directly to the person landing on it. Don’t just tell them what you do make them feel like they’re in the right place.

Put yourself in their shoes for a second. If you landed on your site, would you be convinced to take action? If not, that’s where the work begins.

What a start from the holiday return👌

After arriving home from đŸ‡čđŸ‡· late last night, it was time to get back to work first on the list was catching up with the guys at Esk Glazing + Interiors to capture some of the great work carried out by the boys in Carnoustie last week.

This was the perfect opportunity to visit the beautiful and historic Carnoustie golf course in the rare October sun.

This place truly is a spectacle the standards set by the club are unbelievable and hopefully one day when that handicaps down I’ll test myself on this historic course.

For now it’s time to catch up with some clients as we plan the winter months ahead.

“Being good at what you do isn’t enough anymore.”

Over the past few months, I’ve realised something that completely changed how I think about marketing and life in general.

It doesn’t matter how skilled you are, how long you’ve been in business, or how great your product or service is
if people don’t trust you online, they’ll go to the next person who looks like they have it figured out.

I’ve had so many people come to me saying things like:

“I saw their ad, but they hadn’t posted in 2 years.”
“I reached out but heard nothing back for weeks.”
“Their website looked smart, but I couldn’t actually understand what they did.”

It’s not that those businesses weren’t good it’s that they didn’t build a connection.

And when you don’t show up online, people start to assume you’ve stopped caring, or worse, that you’ve stopped operating.

In 2025, trust is your marketing.
AI can create content, but it can’t create connection.

Your online presence is no longer optional it’s your reputation, your first impression, and your proof that you’re still performing at your best.

You don’t need to post every day, but you do need to show people who you are, what you stand for, and why they should believe in your work. I know it’s hard growing up in a place like Scotland it can be scary showing your personality but without it people who take the risk will leave you in the dirt.

If your last post was months ago or your website hasn’t been touched since 2021 that’s your sign to start showing up again.

Not because algorithms say so, but because your next customer needs to trust you before they choose you.

Here’s the thing most business websites don’t have a lead problem

they have a form problem.

I see it all the time:
A clean site, good copy, nice photos

then you scroll to the bottom and hit a form that feels like an interrogation.

Name. Email. Phone. Address. Postcode. How did you hear about us?
Before they even press “Send,” they’ve already given up.

If you want more people to actually fill out your contact form
here’s what works best 👇

đŸ§© 1. Keep it simple (3–4 fields max)
✅ Name
✅ Email (or phone, not both)
✅ Message box but with a prompt (“Tell us what you’re looking for”)

⚡ 2. Use a clear, friendly headline
Instead of:

“Submit your enquiry”
Try:
“Let’s get your project started”
or
“Ready to grow? Let’s chat 👇”

🧠 3. Make your button human, not robotic
Replace ‘Submit’ with something that feels personal:
“Send My Message”
“Let’s Get Started”
“Request My Quote”

💬 4. Add instant trust

Right under the form, include one of these:

⭐ A short testimonial (“Robbie’s team replied in 2 hours and had us booked in!”)

🔒 “Your info’s safe we’ll never share it.”
That tiny bit of reassurance can double form completions.
If your website has a form that looks like a 2005 survey,
you’re losing leads simple as that.
