On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, sites will be open from 9am to 1pm. Slots can be booked at www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/waste

Real Christmas tree recycling

Real Christmas trees will be collected for recycling from Monday, 5 January to Friday, 16 January 2026. Residents should:

It wasn't meant to be a secret but when we went to network recently it turns out not many people knew about our free event calendar for all. They also didn't know about sending us their good news stories. So here's a little reminder about how to get that done.

Why use this free service❔️ The Bee Local website gets 1000s of visitors every month so it's a great place to share what's going on.

If you are looking for bigger promotional opportunities we've got those too 😁 from our features advertiser spot, editorials as well as traditional print advertising to 19000 homes.

Each year we make a donation to a tree planting project to give a little back for the printing we do. 🌳🌿

This year we have donated to Tiny Forest. Tiny forests are small areas of fast-growing, dense woodlands planted in urban areas with a mix of native tree species. They occupy no more than 200 metres squared (roughly the equivalent size of a tennis court) and contain approximately 600 trees. Creating tiny forests helps to improve access to greenspace for our community and connects more people with nature in urban spaces.

About Bee Local Magazine

In a nutshell (or perhaps a beehive) Bee Local Magazine is community magazine and directory for Leighton Buzzard and 14 surrounding Beds and Bucks villages.

It is put together and owned by me, (Andrena) I am a local lady and I have lived around here forever! My plan has always been to make a magazine that I would like to read. I try and fill it with interesting news, events, articles and puzzles and in turn my advertisers get seen by the readers and it helps local businesses get known and be successful.

Bee Local Magazine is delivered to 18,000 homes in the area and it also goes onto the checkouts at Morrisons plus soon to be available in Bassett Road surgery too.

If you would like to speak to me about advertising or your news and events please call on 01525 222473 /mob: 0797 155 4604. email [email protected] or simply message through facebook
