🎨 Introducing In Our View – East Bergholt Celebrates Constable 250 🌿

2026 marks 250 years since the birth of John Constable, born right here in East Bergholt and inspired by the landscapes we all know and love.

In Our View will be a programme of village events for this special anniversary year. From local activities to community celebrations, it’s all about showcasing the views, creativity and spirit of East Bergholt as we join in with the wider Constable 250 programme, including three major exhibitions at Christchurch Mansion running from Easter onwards.

🕯️ All Souls’ Day – Service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving 🕊️

Join us at St Mary’s Church, East Bergholt on Saturday 1st November 2025 at 2.30 pm for a peaceful service to remember and give thanks for those we have loved and lost. 💜

You are invited to write the names of departed loved ones in the bowl at the back of the church — these will be placed on the altar during the service. Candles can also be lit before and during the service as a symbol of remembrance. 🕯️✨

Everyone is welcome, whatever your circumstances, to share in this time of reflection, prayer, and thanksgiving. Please enter via the door opposite the War Memorial.

🎨✨ Constable 250 is coming to East Bergholt! ✨🎨

In June 2026, we’ll be celebrating 250 years since the birth of John Constable—born right here in East Bergholt and inspired by our beautiful landscapes 🌳🏞️

From 8th–14th June 2026, the village will come alive with local events, exhibitions and celebrations as part of the nationwide Constable 250 programme.

To help bring everything together, East Bergholt Parish Council has set up a coordination team (Cllrs Miller & Burns) and we’re already working closely with East Bergholt Society, St Mary's Church East Bergholt, Constable Memorial Hall and The National Trust.
