I am unfortunately struggling with the knees still but I am putting in alot of effort to try and fix them! They will come good I’m sure, but it’s taking far longer than I’d hoped! Some shore fishing on piers might be an option next week where it’s level ground and easy access.

🎣 Summer Evening Bass Fishing

Out on the kayak for a bit of bass fishing on a summer evening, using the new Skerries Pro lures from Sidewinder in my favourite Candy King colour.

The small schooly bass were loving them, with pretty much a fish a cast at times.

In the clip, we put one bass back, make another cast and catch another straight away. Nothing big, but great fun on light gear and exactly the sort of evening I needed for a bit of a mood boost.

One of the biggest talking points this week has to be the incredible numbers of trigger fish being caught around the UK. Their range has expanded significantly in recent years, and with sea temperatures remaining warm, they seem to be thriving in more of our coastal waters.

Meanwhile, bluefin tuna are now being caught consistently, proving they’re well and truly back around the UK. It’s an exciting time for offshore anglers!

Unfortunately, it’s still a different story for many shore anglers, with beach fishing remaining frustratingly quiet across much of the country. Hopefully, as we head further into late summer and autumn, things will start to pick up.

Welcome back to another UK Sea Fishing Weekly, bringing you the biggest sea fishing stories from around the UK.

I’ve had loads of people ask how I get my little Polycraft 300 Tuffy up a steep shingle beach. Well… the footage has been sat on my hard drive for ages, and I’ve finally got round to editing it!

If you’ve ever struggled dragging a small boat up the beach after a long day on the water, this might make life a whole lot easier.

I’m using my Polycraft in the video, but the same idea could easily be adapted for SIBs, kayaks and other small craft. You obviously wouldn’t drag an inflatable like this, but with a few tweaks the method works just the same.

I’ve said it time and time again… when you take your mates fishing, the pressure is on until they catch! 😂

This wrecking session started hard, with fish proving difficult to find, but I kept searching and eventually Tom hooked into his first ever po***ck! 🎣

From there it just got better and better. He smashed his PB multiple times over throughout the day, and moments like that are exactly why I love taking people out.

These days, as skipper, I honestly get more of a buzz watching my mates catch than catching fish myself. Seeing someone land a personal best or a species they’ve never caught before is what it’s all about.

And once again, the Sidewinder Lures have absolutely done the business! 🔥

🎣 HOW TO SET UP A DRIFT OVER A WRECK 🎣

In this quick video, I show you how I set up my drifts over a wreck using the chart plotter and track lines on the little 3m boat.

Nothing too technical or complicated—just a simple look at the chart screen and the method I use to get lined up on the mark. Hopefully, it’ll give a few of you some ideas and help you spend more time fishing over the wreck instead of drifting straight past it!

Out on the wrecks today and I thought I’d put together this quick guide showing exactly how to set up a shad and boom rig for beginners and pros alike. 🐟

It’s a simple yet very effective rig, easily explained and perfect for fishing over wrecks for species such as po***ck and cod. ⚓🔥

The UK’s bluefin tuna fishing season opens next week, Monday 13 July, giving authorised commercial fishers and permitted recreational anglers the opportunity to target bluefin tuna in UK waters.
