I can’t believe these photos turned out.
I bought this 1964 Yashica-Mat EM on marketplace for $20. The previous owner had never used it and it had sat on a shelf as a decoration for years.
The focus wheel doesn’t work and it seemed to be stuck somewhere near infinity.
Before I try to fix it I wanted to see if the other parts work. I used some 10 year expired Rollei Ortho 25 film Cesar gave me as I didn’t want to waste fresh film on a possibly busted camera.
With such low ISO and only infinity focus I thought I’d try some architectural photography. I headed to Southbank, Brisbane’s home of brutalism, and got an hour of what I’m pretty sure was free parking.
I didn’t have high hopes for the 60 year old camera but somehow all 12 images came out - and I haven’t received a parking fine so everything’s coming up Milhouse.
27th month shooting a second hand film camera.
