Last weekend I ran the Hackney Half Marathon and honestly, it was the hardest thing Iโve ever done. ๐
I ran for two reasons. The first and most important was for my Aunt Caroline, who we lost to cancer at the end of last year. Running in her memory, I managed to raise ยฃ850 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Every single penny means the world and you can still donate now. ๐๏ธ
The second was to prove to myself that I could commit to something fitness related long-term and see it through on my own.
I had the absolute best time running through east London. My legs were basically jelly at the end (the real challenge was getting home afterwards), I picked up a few blisters, and as it turns out runnerโs ni**le is very much a real thing. Consider this your PSA. ๐
But once Iโd healed up? I think Iโm doing it again in 2027. This time, Iโve got a time to beat.
None of this would have happened without the support of my incredible friends, my amazing family, and the best girlfriend I could ever ask for she made the sign, she backed me from day one, and sheโs the reason I even believed I could do this. Thank you. โค๏ธ
Congratulations to everyone who ran this year, see you all on the start line in 2027! ๐
Scroll to the end to see my time ๐
