We are proud to have contributed animation to JMW Turner: On the Wing, now showing at Tate Britain as part of Tate’s Turner displays. The film, which explores Turner's love of travel and the landscapes that inspired him, also recently opened in Taipei, and runs daily on a loop at the Clore Galleries until 31 May 2026. Introducing MARBLE – a new chapter in Plume Films' immersive storytelling.

Imagine orbiting Earth from midnight to midnight, accompanied by an original orchestral‑electronic score performed live. MARBLE is our most ambitious project yet, a 90‑minute audio‑visual experience blending cinematic ISS footage, animation, and music into a meditative planetary portrait.

Developed in collaboration with composer Clive Whitburn, MARBLE asks us to pause, step back, and see our world anew.

At Plume Films, our work on The Turner Project with the Tate was a masterclass in detail, and after perfecting the rotoscoping, our deep dive into colour and texture truly defined the project's visual soul. In our new blog post, we share the fascinating process behind creating those authentic feels, using paper and ink wash textures to give our 2D characters a beautiful form that complemented the 3D rotoscoping.

Discover how we used subtle colour inflections and extensive layering to build depth, and how crucial it was to harmonise our palette with the film's gorgeous vintage postcard-like grade. It was a journey of careful experimentation, especially adapting to those stunning turquoise snow scenes!
