I'm a feminist but...

I find the 'boss babes' tactics stressful.

Maybe it's my demographic and if that's the case I'll hold my hands up but most of my DMs are from women promising me 10k months, telling me I need to up my prices by 10k to be valued and reminding me a retreat in Bali is exactly what I need for business clarity.

Make no mistake I'd love to go to Bali - for silence and a pina colada, plus... bold of you to assume what I already earn BUT women are already underpaid, in competition with each other and this type of marketing isn't helping.

Women deserve more than recycled Mel Robbins quotes. We deserve space to be taken seriously and actual support, not spiritualised sales tactics and toxic positivity.

Sometimes we just want to do good work, get paid fairly, and not feel like a failure for liking quiet success.

Feminism is about choice. And I choose peace.

1. Making a display of letting someone run the social accounts. It was funny for 5 mins but let's move on. I'm looking at you Monzo Bank 🤣

2. Boxed doll version of ourselves. Is that really your best use of AI in 2025?

3. Buzz word bingo. inserting "authentic, diverse, etc" doesn't mean anything unless your brand ethics actually align.

If you're reading this and thinking "you must be fun at parties" please note this is said very much tongue in cheek.

Sometimes the grass is greener because it’s fake.

Controversial opinion… but creating false urgency and boasting about income just isn’t for me. I believe women, actually, everyone should be proud of their achievements. But sharing top line numbers isn’t always a true reflection of success.

If you’re scrolling and come across a lifestyle that feels totally out of reach, remember it’s just a snippet. You don’t see the outgoings, the potential debt, or the hard graft behind the scenes. Wish that person well, then refocus on your own goals in your own lane.

Jokes aside AI is amazing, but stay on topic. Use it for ideas and not to rewrite your whole business strategy.

I fear with the increase in ChatGPT written copy people are feeling the pressure to move away from showing off who they really are and what makes them tick.

My point? Use AI, by all means but don't lose confidence in your own ability.

Let's stop striving for perfection on social media. More typos and less rocket emojis please 🙏
