Debbie Sussidio, who is 36 years old and lives in Birmingham, shares that she is not in a relationship at the moment but feels hopeful that she will meet someone special — provided that her ideal partner has a forklift license holder.
“I’m not saying I’m picky,” Debbie explained, “but if a man can’t safely lift a pallet of plasterboard, I’m just not interested.” She says there’s something about a guy in a high-vis vest maneuvering a forklift that makes her heart race. “It’s the confidence. The precision. The beep-beep when they back up — it’s pure masculinity!”
Friends say Debbie refuses to date anyone who doesn’t have proof of health and safety training. One recent suitor told her he could drive a lawn mower, but she said, “That’s not the same.”
For now, she’s keeping her dating apps open and her heart guarded — unless, of course, someone certified rolls into her life with a clean safety record.
