If you were struggling with yesterday’s “Guess where” Little Planet, here’s a clue.
A river runs through it, a sandy beach waits beyond the frame, and those rooftops tell of a town with long coastal heritage.
Can you name the place?
Comment below with your guesses — let’s see who gets it right first!

Riddle me this — where the river meets the sea, a harbour hums quietly, and golfers walk where kings once strode.
This “little planet” perspective shows how aerial imagery can transform how we see our world. Perfect for estate agents, landowners and tourism businesses wanting to showcase their surroundings from a fresh angle.

An unusual perspective of Dysart Harbour — an inverted little planet.
Centuries ago, this harbour thrived on coal and salt trade, its walls echoing with the sounds of ships and merchants.
Now, with the calm water and small boats, it’s a photographer’s dream — a perfect blend of heritage and serenity.

What does this image make you think of? A tiny world, a swirling vortex, or perhaps a glimpse into another dimension?

A sunrise over Town Loch, Dunfermline — that quiet moment before the day begins.
Each project starts with light and perspective, and that’s what aerial photography brings to every client. Whether it’s a new development, a rural estate, or a boutique hotel, the right image sets the tone for everything that follows.

Guess where?
A Highland halt where clans once roamed,
Between Spey’s waters and Cairngorm’s dome,
The iron road slices through the glen,
Trains pause here before heading south again.

Can you solve it? Drop your answer in the comments and share your best memory of a Highland train journey.

The 09:52 LNER Azuma from Aberdeen to London King’s Cross (1E15) passes Burntisland at low tide. Reflected perfectly in the still waters of the Firth of Forth, this moment was filmed with my DJI Mini 5 drone.

The Tay Bridge is one of the longest railway bridges in Britain, yet from the air the scale makes the trains look miniature as they cross.

Capturing this perspective isn’t straightforward. It takes planning — tracking train timetables, checking weather conditions, selecting the right site — all while keeping more than 50m away from the railway to comply with aviation law.

That effort is what makes aerial photography so powerful. It shows scale and context in a way no ground-level view ever could.

At Rumbling Bridge Falls on the River Braan, the gorge pulls you in with its power.

By lowering the drone into the narrow rock walls, we captured inverted Little Planets that twist the view into something almost otherworldly.

Do you prefer the thunderous rush of water or the calmer scene where the bridge reveals itself?

The Highland Chieftain rolling across the Culloden Viaduct at dawn — filmed entirely by hand with the Mini 4 drone. These perspectives bring infrastructure and engineering to life in a way that plans and drawings never can.
If you have a project that deserves to be seen in its best light, let’s talk about how aerial photography can capture it.

After 11 years of professional drone flying, I find myself relying less on auto features and more on manual skill.
It’s never truer than when something unexpected happens — like a ScotRail train racing across the Forth Bridge at sunrise. Auto-tracking would have missed it, but manual flying delivered the shot.
That’s where experience makes the difference.
