A perfectly still Loch of Lintrathen beneath a moody sky.

This image was taken on the way to a job for a rural estate agent client. It was not planned, just one of those moments where light, weather, and timing come together without warning.

Being out on location regularly means you get to witness scenes like this, fleeting and quietly powerful.

New Year’s Day at Kirkstone Pass.

This is where the climb ends and the road drops away. After the effort of riding up here, the descent feels like an invitation into the year ahead.

Every journey has its climbs and its rewards.

So, what route are you taking in 2026?

Wishing you a very happy New Year.

Cyclo cross is brutal, muddy, and hugely popular, especially in places like Flanders where winter racing is a way of life.

These photos were taken at the British Cyclo Cross Championships in Ardingly, January 2022. Racing for Trinity Racing at the time, Cameron Mason put in a massive ride.

The final image, sitting exhausted in the mud, sums up exactly what this sport demands.

Capturing moments like this is why I love photographing sport, effort made visible.

This short drone video at Ben Lawers dam is a perfect example of the art of the reveal.

Beginning below the dam crest, the camera rises to show the water behind and the full scale of the structure.

Built as part of Scotland’s hydro electric programme, the dam sits carefully within the landscape beneath Ben Lawers.

Aerial video helps tell these stories clearly and simply, especially where access is limited from the ground.

If you have infrastructure, landscape, or engineering projects that need to be seen properly, aerial video can make all the difference.

Glen Dochart caught in crisp winter sunshine, looking towards Crianlarich.

This glen follows the River Dochart and was carved by glaciers thousands of years ago, leaving behind the wide valley and steep sides you see today.

Ahead lies Crianlarich, a small village with an outsized role as a transport hub for both road and rail through the Highlands.

A place where geography has always dictated movement.

A quiet Shetland sunset.

The house is just a silhouette here, the detail does not matter. What matters is the light, the colour, and the calm that comes with it.

An image does not always need to explain itself.

Back in the dark days of 2020, Christmas Day was one of the few times we were allowed out.

We drove north to Inverness to spend the day with family and as we crossed the bridges, this sunrise revealed itself.

It felt special then and still does now, a quiet, hopeful moment in a very uncertain time.

Wishing you and yours a very happy Christmas.

Ever wondered how ruins look from above?

This is Cambusnethan Priory, a 19th century Gothic building later used as a Dominican priory, now standing roofless after a fire in the 1980s.

The Little Planet panorama is a brilliant way to show context, surroundings, and atmosphere in a single image.

Perfect for heritage records, storytelling, or simply seeing familiar places differently.

Guess where this is.

Waiting with the drone ready to capture an abnormal load passing through for a client. Night operations are rarely spontaneous, they rely on careful daytime site recces and risk assessments.

Checking overhead cables, lighting, traffic flow, and safe launch areas is what makes the night flight possible. Sometimes the most important work happens before the drone ever leaves the ground.

Not every assignment produces dramatic aerial footage.

On this occasion, conditions were simply too severe for drone operations, and even ground photography struggled against wind and rain. The vessel never entered port, but attending site was still essential.

This image became part of the job record, confirming presence and documenting conditions for the client. Reliable documentation, honest decision making, and safety always come first.

If you need dependable site coverage in challenging environments, that’s where I can help.

Severn Valley Steam Railway on an walk in damp November weather, with engines 34027 Taw Valley, 7802 Bradley Manor and 7812 Erlestoke Manor from . The drizzle brought out the atmosphere beautifully, steam hanging low and the rails glistening through the woodland. Finished off with a cracking sunset too. Sorry to have missed the jolly last week.
If you need heritage settings or outdoor events captured whatever the weather, I’m always happy to help.

A look back nine years, when drone technology was still finding its feet and every flight meant careful preparation.
Glenshee in deep winter cold meant batteries needed warming in the car first, and my hands followed shortly after.
But then the reward, that beautifully low December sun pouring across the hills, casting long shadows and shaping the entire landscape.
If you need your site captured with the same mix of patience, technical know how and creative eye, I’d be delighted to help.
