Firstly as a musician myself I get really excited when I see an awesome artist with well crafted songs, well thought out with months sometimes years of effort put into this work. The disappointment comes when I look them up online and they seem to be invisible or lost in the colossal sea of not so interesting competition. So we had a good think about this and thought…
Why can’t a musician or a band operate like any other service? Why can’t these guys make an honest living playing out such amazing material? Why are really talented entertainers expected to play for peanuts? Hmm, good questions but whats the answer? I mean if you’re a plumber or builder, you go and do a days work and get paid so why not if you can do well turned out good shows? We have decided to set up this label so we can sign an artist and work with them to set themselves up as a good hard working machine that can get a good living by putting in a lot of effort and hard work, by really promoting themselves. We are not going to have an A&R department scoping the earth for talent, signing up a load of acts then if one sticks go with it and shelve the rest. We are going to work with one really good artist at a time and everyone will put a good shift in to make sure we have covered every base and done everything possible to establish this artist. Now this can sound a bit disheartening if you were thinking of getting your demos across to us and now you’re thinking why am I looking at the page and why should I follow it? THREE REASONS
