*What’s going to be on ‘Between The Tracks’ this Christmas week?

This time it’s music mostly from 1967 & 1970. Louise & Charles have excelled with not just one, but two ‘Choice Cuts’ telling of tracks that made it to the top at Christmas and some history behind the charts. The ‘Fifties Fling’ has songs from Bobby Darin and Jimmie Driftwood. In the ‘Overseas Interlude’ we’re in France for a chanson from Antoine. The ‘Train Track’ is by the Monkees, then ‘Motown Monsters’ from Stevie Wonder and the Supremes. We pay tribute to the talent of Stanley Baxter who died recently. The ‘Archive Advert’ has him lecturing a class about Bird’s Eye foods but in his Glaswegian patwa! Our ‘Top Ten’ is taken from the Billboard charts of 20th December 1970 and our playout song is what was at the top of the UK charts at the same time.

Stay tuned to 242 Radio for more great programmes over the Christmas and New Year holidays.

*Bionic Bob is ‘Between the Tracks’ on 242 Radio on Saturdays at 3pm, Sundays from 12 Noon, Tuesdays at 3am and Thursdays at 8pm (UK times). Merry Christmas!
