Let’s look at 2025 in the pictures, as it was a very special year.

It was my 7th year in business with CreateGreg Ltd. I genuinely appreciate being still in business, as I know it wasn’t the best year for so many companies and creative folks. It makes me appreciate even more all the clients I have had the great pleasure to work with. With some of them, I worked for many years, and a few are new ones.

I didn’t travel as much as in 2024, but I managed to visit Madeira and Bosnia for the very first time and film in the USA again. That was cool.

I have almost built my ideal video studio, which I’m happy to use more to create content in 2026.

Health-wise, I joined a CrossFit gym in January this year. I’ve been into fitness all my life, but CrossFit truly kicked me out of my comfort zone as the volume and intensity are on a whole new level. I haven’t suffered so much during exercise, and I haven’t been so fit in a long time. Love it!

I’ve been doing yoga and meditating every single day of 2025 and want to carry on my streak into 2026.

I turned 40 this year… there is not too much I can do about it.

But none of it even compares to becoming a father to a lovely girl, Emily. There are no words to explain how much joy it brought to my life. You have to become a parent to understand that, and this is the biggest blessing of 2025.

2026 will be all about enjoying seeing a wee one growing and doubling down on work to provide for the family.

I don’t take as many photos as I used to.
‌
But there are moments in life worth capturing.
‌
With days (or hours) away from a little one to join us, and many things to be done, my wife and I managed to carve out some time for a maternity photo session.
‌
I wouldn’t be myself if I didn’t decide to do it myself in an epic location at the right time. The 3rd of October was perfect. Even though clouds spoiled golden hour lighting, it turned out pretty well (no need to be modest here).
‌
I’m getting to the point in life where less is more and quality over quantity 99% of the time (in life and business).
‌
I’m less active on social media, and I haven’t created any content for myself in a long time, but that is... OK.
That’s the part of life I’m in, being busy with work (blessed with that) and getting ready for Emily to join us.
‌
I would love to have more time, but expect to have it even less pretty soon.
‌
However, I believe you can always find time for things that are most important to you. In that case, it was a sunflower photo session with my wifey.
‌
Life is good.

After a week, I can say the job is done.
‌
(Like 20 years ago)
‌
When I started my adventure at movie sets as a kid, my first jobs were in the props and scenography department.
‌
This was the period of my life when I learned how to use tools, build items, and paint. The amount of odd jobs I had to do on set was amazing, from ironing curtains and carrying heavy furniture to making dinner for a movie scene.
‌
I remember one summer, productions were put on hold, and my friend and I had no work. A film and TV producer offered us a chance to re-paint a filmmaking studio.
‌
With an attitude that no job is too hard for us, we spent weeks and hundreds of litres of paint doing that. Then, we sat in the producer’s office and were asked to price our work. We didn’t want to sound greedy (plus I messed up the numbers out of stress) and asked for £400.
‌
He said no with a blank face, and we sat in silence. It was a short silence, but it felt like it lasted hours while we were sweating like crazy.
‌
Then he said he valued our work at £1200 as we made it very professional. And this was a lesson for us to value ourselves and know the market price.
‌
(It was 20 years ago in Poland, and this money was huge for us.)
‌
Not to mention, that was the best school of life I could ask for.
‌

40 spins around the sun today.
‌
A good moment to share some life thoughts.
‌
It is not one of those posts where I will find 40 life lessons. I could stretch a bit and find 40 insights, but who would’ve read that?
‌
1. Appreciate what you have and who you become, but always strive for more. Ten years ago, precisely on this day, I visited the hospital to hear the results of my cancer surgery. It went well (as I’m still kicking), but could’ve gone the other way.
We don’t know how much time we have, so let’s strive to make the most of it. Let’s see how far we can go and what we can achieve. At the same time, let’s cherish every day and the people around us, as we never know how many days we still have left.
‌
2. To enjoy your life, you must have the energy and a good state of mind to do so. It all comes from a fit body. It doesn’t have to be a gym and lifting iron. Find something that pushes your body to be in good shape. I’ve never regretted going to the gym. Not even once
‌
3. I used to believe that sleep was overrated. Not anymore, as with age, one’s ability to recover decreases.
I remember working on a movie set for 14 hours a day in my twenties, then partying all night and coming back to work the following morning.
I can still push myself with little rest, but it becomes unproductive, miserable, and unsustainable in the long run.
‌
4. The best skill to develop is discipline. I don’t have any particular talents, but all the good things in my life came from being capable of consistently doing things for an extended period.
This is how I got my MSc in engineering, learnt English and build business.
‌
5. Create (or join) the environment that pushes your boundaries. Despite working out my whole life, I recently gave a go to CrossFit. Oh boy, I thought I was decently fit, but each session kicks my butt like never before. I’m on my way to being fitter in my 40s than in my 20s.
‌
6. The power of compounding interest is real. I’ve been in the filmmaking/video space pretty much all my life. All those years of practice give me an unfair advantage over anyone who would like to start now. The game is to adjust to the new reality while staying in the same creative lane.

If I had to summarise 2024 in two words, it would be “kept going”.
‌
The biggest milestone of this year, which took three years to accomplish, was buying our first property.
‌
Compared to 2023, I didn’t travel as much but visited Austin, Orlando, London, Austria, Poland, Fuerteventura and many cool places in Scotland.
‌
I kept my business growing despite a few bumps in the road, and now I’m going into my seventh year with CreateGreg Ltd.
‌
I worked with so many amazing people I knew for years and met just this year.
‌
I’ve been lifting heavy, taking cold plunges, not to mention stretching and meditating every single day in 2024.
‌
I lost weight, and I put on weight. I’ve lost some clients and gained new ones. I had the worst and the best months in business. All of it.
‌
Most importantly, I was healthy. 2025 will be my 10th year cancer-free.
‌
Next year, I will adjust a few things here and there but mostly keep pushing forward and compounding what I have achieved so far.
‌
It has been an amazing year.
‌
Bring it on 2025!

After three weeks off, two ferries and over 2500 miles by car with camera in hand and phone in airplane mode most of the time I'm back to work.
⠀
While travelling, it was good to grab a camera and snap a few photos here and there for the joy of creating without any need for the outcome or deadline.
⠀
As much as my personal and professional life is directly connected to video on a daily basis, taking time off from it to get married and do a bit of travelling was much needed.
⠀
This time was enough to restore the hunger for video content creation.
⠀
To the next chapter! 🚀

I can't stop creating, and this is what makes me good.

I've just got back from a birthday weekend away in Ireland, while my camera and drone stayed in Edinburgh. The idea was to disconnect from creating and do nothing to relax and recharge.
⠀
That was the plan, but when I saw Howth cliffs for the first time, I knew the phone camera would do the job to snap at least a few shots. Then editing on the phone, and voila.
⠀
This is where the interesting part starts. My creative outcomes have nothing to do with me being creative as I don't see myself gifted with creative talents compared to painters, graphic designers, etc.
However, the joy of learning and creating pretty much every day for many years yield results.
⠀
Every single photo, every single video created intentionally get me a tiny bit better. When these tiny bits compound, the next level starts.
⠀
I think this is how I do relax and recharge. 🔋

All words of wisdom can be boiled down to being grateful for what I have and experience to use it as a springboard for more.
