Hello everyone,

Man, it's been a hot minute, had loads of health issues recently and quite frankly have had no motivation, I'm slowly getting through my most recent piece, of Merlin the Ferret, been building up layers slowly, it's been a challenge but I'm beginning to get somewhere.

I've got a busy few months of appointments and driving lessons coming up but I will be more active now, I promise 😅 hope everyone is having a lovely week 💙

Well, of all the animals I thought would be difficult to draw, a Ferret was not one of them 😂 seems I've gotten too comfortable drawing birds 🐦

This is a very welcome challenge though, several hours and pieces of paper later, finally got a sketch down I'm happy with, can't wait to begin. ✏️

This is the start of the pet portraits, as said in the first post about this. Any portraits that I do (all picked at random) as a thank you, the owner of the pet picked, will be getting the finished piece, free of charge if they like it enough ❤️

Hope you're all well, I've been busy working on multiple projects, hoping to have Errol here done by the end of the week 🦉

If you happen to have any newspapers, canned dog food, cardboard boxes (big enough to carry and release hedgehogs) or even old towels you're looking to replace, I'm sure Berwick Swan and Wildlife Trust would be extremely thankful for any donations. (I'm happy to take them in when I go in next week for anyone near me)

Happy Monday everyone!

Thought I'd give a small update on everything, the practice pet portraits are underway, so be on the lookout in my future posts.

Todays activity however, was getting my rough sketch down of a beautiful tawny owl that resides at the wildlife centre I volunteer at, all the shapes in the feathers certainly ain't easy to do, so isn't perfect, but I can't wait to start getting some colours down, he is going to look gorgeous 🦉

Now that's improvement, 6 years of improvement to be exact. I never really look back to see where my art started, as it can be embarrassing, but I think this shows why as artists, we should.

We are always criticising our work. The longer we look at a piece, the more flaws we see. But comparing your current work to older work, really let's you see the good side of things.

Never give up! 💙✏️

Hello everyone!

I'm looking to get some more practice in drawing different animals, dogs/cats/horses etc. I would love it if a few people wouldn't mind me drawing their pets. Just post your pet photo down below! (Make sure the pictures is good quality, good lighting, no grainy photos, etc)

If you're pet gets chosen and you love the portrait enough, I'd be happy to give/send it to you as a thank you, can't wait to see all your furred/feathered/scaly friends 💙🐕
