📚 2025 wrapped at Luath Press and what a year it’s been!

This year we continued our mission of publishing well-written books worth reading, with dozens of new titles spanning fiction, non‑fiction, poetry, history, nature, Scots and Gaelic voices and more.

✨ From hardbacks to paperbacks, big ideas to local stories, we brought readers a mix of formats to enjoy across every shelf.

📊 In 2025 we published: multiple new books across top genres, including historic fiction, politics, contemporary fiction, poetry and children’s titles.

📍 Deeply rooted in Scottish culture and landscape, our list covered voices and stories from across communities and traditions.

📖 Huge thanks to our authors, collaborators and readers for making this year one to remember. Here’s to more stories in 2026! ❤️

🎄 Our staff are feeling festive!

We have asked each of our staff members to pick one of their favourite books for 2025! Have a wee read on their picks and reflections for the year. 🔖✨

Name: Amy
Role: Sales & Marketing Co-ordinator
2025 pick: Donald and his Seven Cows by Angus Peter Campbell

Why is this your favourite?: If it wasn't enough that this is by one of my favourite authors - Angus Peter Campbell (I am always excited to get to work on one of his new novels) - I have come to love fiction that feels otherworldly whilst still being set in our time. Donald and his Seven Cows truly feels like a modern classic that I have constantly been recommending to friends - or buying as a gift for my fellow readers - because it really is just THAT book.

Describe this book in three words: Folklore, Rural... Moo

What has been your Luath highlight of 2025?: SO many to pick from. Perhaps getting to, once again, go down to the London Book Fair and mingle amongst my fellow book industry friends, or celebrating Luath at our annual fringe party, or even down to the launch of Skirly Crag, where Helen's special guests were a horse and a duck (yes, during the launch... in the room itself). It has been a mental year.

What book are you most excited about for 2026?: The vast array of titles we already have underway. From Beyond Palatable to Enter Eddie Shakespeare (as a Shakespeare nut who has a whole tattoo of him on her leg... this one is particularly exciting to work on), I am KEEN!

The best part of a roast dinner is...: Easily pigs in blankets!

Stay tuned as our other staff members at Luath Press share their reflections!
