The Met Office have now upgraded tomorrows weather warning to amber, ahead of bringing unseasonably strong and disruptive winds across Scotland tomorrow.

Amber warning
- covers Glasgow, Edinburgh and everywhere north of this area

- covers all of Scotland

There is a Met Office yellow weather warning on MONDAY and TUESDAY from 6am on Monday to 6am on Tuesday for strong winds covering Aberdeen & the rest of Scotland.

Storm Floris will bring strong winds for a time which may cause some disruption in places.

❗ Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
❗It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves
❗Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
❗Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
❗Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
❗There is a small chance of isolated, short term loss of power

Serious situation developing for Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland for Monday.⚠ī¸âš ī¸.

The data now indicating 50-75mph widely. Enough for significant affects given trees are in full leaf. Power outages and travel disruption likely. This is very rare for August. Potential for a sting jet with gusts of 80-90mph, this a mild to moderate risk, mainly for the north of Northern Ireland and Scotland.
