Adam Fitzgerald is releasing his debut solo album "Jaded Love" as Quells after a lifetime in bands in Detroit like The Kodaks, Moon Lake, and Shady Groves.
After moving to Edinburgh, Scotland to study through Cambridge University in the UK, in 2026 Fitzgerald finished his MFA at Naropa University's Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics and moved to Los Angeles, California.

“The most difficult questions rarely have definitive answers. Who we are, how much of our identity remains constant over time, and how we relate to those around us are questions that have always accompanied the human experience. In “Drink Up,” Quells transforms these concerns into a contemplative composition that finds more value in exploration than in conclusion.

As the final single from Jaded Love, the debut album of Adam W. Fitzgerald's solo project, the song explores the fragility of personal certainties. Through imagery linked to water and the ever-changing nature of existence, the lyrics suggest that identity may be less solid than we imagine. Far from presenting this idea as unsettling, the composition uses it to create space for a more humble and compassionate perspective on oneself and others.

A soundscape built for introspection

The musical offering of “Drink Up” moves freely between dream pop, shoegaze, indie rock, folk, and hints of R&B.
