Mali receives 82 fuel tankers from Niger amid fuel crisis.

Mali has received 82 fuel tankers from neighbouring Niger, providing critical relief amid a severe fuel shortage, officials said on Sunday.

The convoy travelled 1,400 kilometres from Niamey to Bamako, taking 21 days to reach the Malian capital safely, navigating security risks along the route.

The fuel crisis in Mali has been exacerbated by a blockade imposed by al-Qaeda-linked militants, disrupting supply chains across the country.

Support from Niger, alongside international partners including Russia, is aimed at stabilising energy supplies and addressing Mali’s ongoing logistical and security challenges, officials added.
