A Taste of St Andrews, Refined by the Sea

has unveiled a bold new Autumn/Winter menu, bringing a refined, seasonal focus to its coastal dining experience in St Andrews. The refreshed offering pairs the restaurant’s signature contemporary seafood cookery with an expanded à la carte sélection, giving diners greater culinary choice while showcasing the depth and character of Scotland’s cold-season larder.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the St Andrews coastline, the new menus celebrate the best of Scotland’s Autumn and Winter larder. Executive Chef Davy Aspin and the culinary team have crafted dishes that highlight responsibly sourced seafood, local game, and winter vegetables, delivering comfort, sophistication, and bold flavour combinations suited to the colder seasons.

This festive season, Edinburgh invites guests to leave the ordinary behind and step into the ‘Chamber of Magic’ - a world where wonder, mischief, and wizardry collide.

From a cosy fireplace framed by glittering trees, to a flurry of letters spilling upward with a watchful owl perched among them, to a dreamy sky of drifting clouds and twinkling stars above the grand-hall-inspired dining room, the space is filled with lush garlands wrapping the banquettes and Christmas trees shimmering with wondrous displays. Whimsical gifts and hidden surprises peek from every corner, while tables glow softly with candlelight, inviting guests into a season of festive revelry and imagination.

KOCHCHI Expands to Glasgow, Bringing Sri Lankan Heat to the City’s West End 🗞️ 🇱🇰 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This winter, Glasgow’s vibrant West End will welcome .uk , the award-winning Sri Lankan street food brand, as it opens its first standalone restaurant in the former The Hanoi Bike Shop on Ruthven Lane.

The launch marks an exciting new chapter for the brand, which first captured Scotland’s attention at Bonnie & Wild in Edinburgh’s St James Quarter - the acclaimed Scottish food marketplace. Since opening there in 2022, KOCHCHI has become one of Bonnie & Wild’s most popular kitchens, celebrated for its bold, flame-cooked dishes and modern take on Sri Lanka’s rich culinary heritage.

The opening in Glasgow marks a major milestone for KOCHCHI as the brand evolves from its street food roots into a fully-fledged restaurant and bar concept. What began as a small kitchen serving bold, flame-fired dishes at Edinburgh’s Bonnie & Wild has grown into one of Scotland’s most celebrated Sri Lankan food brands.

The half a million-pound investment into the Glasgow West End destination will build on that success with an expanded menu and dedicated bar. Guests can expect the same fiery spirit and vibrant flavours that defined KOCHCHI’s early days, now brought to life in a space designed for lingering — where the rhythm of Colombo meets the warmth of Glasgow’s West End.

Founded by friends Shehan Fernando and Suki Jayaratne, KOCHCHI was born from a shared love of the country’s diversity and the belief that food is its most powerful storyteller. Though they grew up in different parts of Sri Lanka, it was Colombo - the country’s bustling capital -that united their culinary vision.

This August, one of Scotland’s most exciting culinary talents is bringing an unmissable dining experience to the heart of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Acclaimed chef Modou Diagne will bring his dining concept to Scotland’s capital as a limited-run pop-up restaurant from August 7th - 24th only, offering a bold, immersive tasting menu that redefines food boundaries. There is no set menu. Instead, diners will be treated to a dynamic, ever-changing tasting experience shaped entirely by Modou and his team, celebrating seasonality, bold flavours, and the power of storytelling through food.

Helmed by Senegalese-born Chef Modou Diagne, the visionary behind Glasgow’s much-loved 111 by Modou and newly opened Trust by Modou, the pop-up Edinburgh restaurant invites guests to surrender control and embrace the unexpected. With no menu and no choices, diners are asked to place their full trust in the chef – and in return, receive an ever-changing, multi-course journey through Modou’s creativity, culture, and passion.

This summer, turns up the heat with the launch of its brand-new Summer Terrace in partnership with V***e Clicquot. Bursting with tropical colour and energy, this vibrant rooftop retreat brings an unexpected splash of sunshine to the heart of Edinburgh.

Located on the 4th floor of St James Quarter and framed by panoramic views of Edinburgh’s historic skyline, the terrace is a summer oasis. Towering palms, vivid orchids, and cascades of tropical flora in hot pinks and fiery oranges set the scene, while playful directional signage and sunshine-yellow bistro tables, dressed with signature V***e Clicquot blankets, lend a whimsical, Instagram-ready charm. It’s a garden in the sky - bright, inviting, and made for summer.

The Terrace has its own cocktail menu, featuring exclusive Champagne and Belvedere Vodka creations. Highlights include La Vie En Rosé, a delightful blend of Lillet Blanc, raspberry syrup, and V***e Clicquot Brut Rosé; Heatwave, a sultry short drink featuring Belvedere Vodka, passionfruit purée, Campari, Ancho Reyes chili liqueur, and honey; and Endless Summer, a bright and aromatic mix of Bombay Sapphire gin, peach and Earl Grey syrup, lemon, and Angostura bitters, topped with V***e Clicquot Brut Yellow Label.
