Formed in 2020 The Herdwick aims to keep the local community at its heart while expanding into the wider national interests, all while promoting local teams, charities and stories.

The Herdwick takes it name from the famous rugged mountain sheep located in the North of England. Like the sheep The Herdwick promises to be ever-changing with the times, always staying up-to-date with the latest news, features, sports, politics, among others.

The founder, Rachael Grealish, started Herdwick Media Ltd after many years in the journalism industry. Starting as a reporter for Egremont 2Day, she worked her way up to editor of the paper before moving to Manchester to work with LADbible.

Rachael will be bringing all her skills, knowledge, new sense, expertise and love for news in Cumbria to The Herdwick.
