We have just completed the last 12 day course of the year , and the wonderful Marcie finished her first hand stitched kilt with me ❤️

During this 2 weeks, we have had other students filling the classes with mostly 3 students per day. It’s been such an amazing creative space ❤️ Way beyond my expectations. This is down to all the amazing individuals who have come through the kilt loft doors ❤️

The laughter that has filled the walls will be there forever 🤭✨❤️

Can we all please give Marcie a well done for working so hard and achieving this beautiful kilt that fits like a glove 😍

I didn’t think online kilt making was possible when I first started. But with clear videos and my 40 years of sewing experience — half of that dedicated to heritage kilt making — it’s actually quite remarkable how well it works.❤️
For those who say it can’t be done… they simply haven’t experienced it yet! 🙃

My students, both new and returning, are creating the most incredible kilts — they honestly blow my mind.❤️

Even my qualified kilt makers are joining the course (get in touch for details!). Because let’s face it — making 10 or even 20 kilts doesn’t mean you’ve seen it all. ❤️

I’m having a week off ! Phew it’s sorely needed! ❤️

I’ve ticked off one of my holiday jobs already , this wee cabinet has been waiting for a makeover for a couple of months … tah dah!

I love it! Full of memories, trinkets of trips and gifts ❤️

The rest of the week, I will be hosting my dear friend Welsh Leona , who has not been this far North before ! So I am being a tourist in my area! ❤️

Kilts glorious Kilts 😍

Opening up my suitcase of kilts yesterday , felt a bit like rediscovering hidden treasure ✨

So many kilts, each in different fabrics and techniques – and what a sight to see them all together again 🥰 (though a few are still missing…I must check my other suitcase of treasures 🤭).

They’d been packed away for over a year while I was creating the Kilt Loft, and I’ve been meaning for ages to bring them back out.

Now they’ll be here for my students to browse through – to spark ideas, inspire new creations, and hopefully help with those tricky design decisions.

Because let’s be honest… sometimes deciding on the details of your kilt can take a very long time 🤭
