𝗕𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱, 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱 🤍

Hospitality looks warm and relaxed on the outside.
But behind the scenes it can be physically exhausting and mentally draining. Across the UK, many pubs, restaurants and hotels have faced staff shortages, rising costs and guests choosing carefully where they spend. That puts real pressure on the people working the shifts.

Long hours. Busy services. Constant problem solving.
And always showing up with a smile.

We do our best.
We really do.
We can’t get it right every time. But we try. And then we try again, and again.

So if you are out eating or drinking anywhere during January, not just with us, a little patience and kindness goes a long way.

And if something ever isn’t quite right, we’d really appreciate a bit of patience first. We are human. We make mistakes. We learn from them. Please talk to us or email us before heading to social media. Give us the chance to listen, explain the circumstances and find a way to put things right.

🎄𝐀 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝 ✨

From Christmas party nights filling the Great Barn with laughter, to relaxed family gatherings around the table in The Hayloft, and plenty of good food and good cheer flowing in The Piggery.

December has really found its rhythm here at The Farmhouse. Busy rooms, smiling faces, glasses raised and moments that feel worth slowing down for.

A genuine thank you to everyone who’s visited, celebrated, gathered or simply popped in over the past few days. It’s been lovely to see the place so full of life.

And we’re not done yet.

We don’t know where November went either!

We don’t know where November went either.
But here we are. The lights are up. The fire’s on. And Christmas is quietly knocking.

Our Christmas menu is ready in The Piggery Pub and it’s full of all the good things.

Turkey with festive trimmings.
Confit duck if you’re feeling fancy.
And puddings that absolutely do not hold back.

Late afternoon in Ely does something a bit magical.
The sun dips low, everything slows for a moment, and the cathedral catches that warm autumn light like it’s been waiting for it all day.

Feels almost unreal, seeing the stone glow like that, especially with the bustle of the Christmas Gift & Food Fair tucked in beside it.
