Happy 99th birthday to Sir David Attenborough, we love you David!

The first image is the David Attenborough Life Story book cover I illustrated. The animal illustrations are some of the interior images I drew with pencil for the book. - A lovely project to work on and probably my favourite from this collection of books.

Spring is the time to play and try new things.

I haven't made loads of art recently.... (which I want to fix somehow time-wise) - but for now, I'm focusing on the garden when I can, and enjoying that LOVE of it that comes at this time of year. And doing my best to not put too much pressure on myself to complete things.

I'm back from the Meta break. It was good. I seemed to feel calmer, like I had more time and felt more free too.....

Saying all this I did decide to return! Ha - but I will be setting times to not scroll as much or be on the app - and maybe take more days off? I will have a think.

How are you all feeling about the socials currently? Despite the many negative things at the mo.....I do still like gathering here with you 🖤

I'm doing a kind of detox - I say kind of - because I've had sugary stuff this week....but I am upping eating food that help my liver work more efficiently. Other foods that aren't in my illustration that do help are: celery, cucumber, corriander, parsley, courgette, lemons and limes as a few examples.

You might of seen I've been doing the declutter in my stories (1 thing everyday for a year). Feel free to join in - do it in one go, or do it in less time. I'm enjoying the 1 item a day so far as it's pretty easy to find stuff. Also it's a gentler route for those who find decluttering hard. There is a blog post on my website about it if you need some basic rules to help you.

And I will take part in the 'Meta lights out' tomorrow too. Where people taking part will log out of Meta apps for 1 week 19th-26th Jan to protest against it.
- if I do this, I will still pick an item a day to declutter, I will just catch you up later.

Happy new year friends! I love New Years Day more than New Years Eve. I like to spend the day with a fresh head thinking about what I'd like my year ahead to include. Today I spent it journalling, collaging and relaxing with a book and Little Women film on TV.

I'm starting a challenge....a non art related one, but still of value; I'm going to get rid of one item per day for the entire year..... and I thought I'd invite you my friends to join me. No pressure though, just thought it might be fun to make some more room in our homes.

I have been resting resting resting. I keep thinking I should be doing stuff, and doing the fun stuff..... but I've had some sort of virus - or maybe I'm run down a little, and so rest is really all I need to do.

As of last March '24 I decided to get a part time job. Work was slower than usual to say the least and I was tired of constantly putting myself out there. I needed a break. So I went out into real life to work - part-time, it took the pressure off.

I'm still freelancing - but I will speak about this more in my next newsletter, as there is too much to say probably, but it's nice to take the time to really stop 🖤

I made this illustrated badge a few weeks ago with a drawing prompt.... which he passed on from Beth Spencer. Beth started the movement to make your own badges promoting human made art (not ai).

I had a job recently where they admitted they tried using ai to create a cover illustration.... but they couldn't get what they wanted, so they asked me 😍👏👏👏.

So here is my badge! I added the butterfly as nature likes to give me a hand too 🦋.
