So the positives from yesterday…
Me and Paul Miles commandeered the MainStage surrounded by chaos 😂

I must say that I genuinely am grateful to JSES LTD who were fully supportive and very professional the whole time! Hopefully our pathways cross again on another stage at another time!

And finally to the whole DYARD crew…. I’ve apologised a million times for yesterday’s events. But you SAVED THE RAVE… we had our very own DYARD fest and I’m truly grateful for all of you! The best fun with the best people, playing the best music!

This is not a post I wish i was writing today.
But here we are.
Yesterday we were booked to play at save the rave. We had 10 DJs and 2 dancers.
Save the rave were to provide the stage and equipment.

This is the stage that was provided 😭🤦🏼‍♀️😂
I was in my car ready to walk off site but the group chat of Dyard DJs were adamant we could laugh our way through it and make the most of it.

We did make the most of a really bad situation…. And our friendship and love of DJing got us through, an event that was ridiculously bad.

None of us got paid as agreed… maybe this will change (but I doubt it)

We were told we had a premier inn booked as accommodation, but when we turned up last night… nothing was booked.

And what is worse is that I went over to main stage to help out the other DJs to find that there is no stage manager and no artist liaison … and what is even worse was they had young children DJing on stage and DJs who needed support for medical reasons. I done what I could to help but I was so fuming to see DJs treated like that especially ones who should have been supported and encouraged to a higher level.

No one from the event has been in touch. They just don’t care.

So this is my disclaimer…. Dyard had absolutely nothing to do with the organisation or production of the event. We’re were booked to supply DJs to a terrible stage that save the rave supplied.

🎧 THE ART OF THE WARM-UP 🎧

Social media makes DJing look like it’s all about the drop.

The hands in the air.
The biggest tunes.
The packed dancefloor.
The videos where everyone is going absolutely mental. 🔥

And yes… those moments are incredible.

But what you don’t always see is what happens before that.

The doors open. The room is almost empty. A handful of people start walking in, and there you are behind the decks, playing music to a space that hasn’t quite found its energy yet.

Not every dancefloor is full. And that’s okay.

There’s a real art to playing to an empty or half-empty room.

It’s not about smashing out the biggest tunes straight away. It’s about feeling the room, reading the people, choosing the right track and slowly building an atmosphere.

Those first few people through the door matter.

You’re playing for them. You’re giving them a reason to stay. You’re creating something from nothing, knowing that in a few hours that same room might be absolutely bouncing.

Every packed dancefloor started with the first person walking through the door.

And whilst social media shows us the drops, the big moments and the full rooms… there’s usually a whole lot of music played before anyone starts filming.

So don’t judge a DJ by how full the dancefloor looks in their Instagram videos.

The warm-up matters. The empty room matters. The journey matters.

Because when that dancefloor eventually fills up, you know you helped create the journey that got it there. 🥰❤️🔊

It was a last min addition to the gig list in Ibiza but always grateful to play, and a big thankyou to Daz Jones & FML - Funk My Life - Release Your Inner Funk for putting on the line up.

🎂 Today I’m 42, and more than anything, I’m feeling incredibly grateful. ❤️

My two beautiful daughters — you are, and always will be, my greatest achievement and my biggest reason to smile. Watching you grow into the amazing girls you are makes me prouder than words could ever explain. 💕👭

To my Mum and Dad, thank you for everything you’ve given me, for always being there and for loving me through every chapter of my life. I’m so lucky to have you both. ❤️

And then there’s Paul… ❤️
My life changed in so many ways the day I met you. You’ve brought so much love, laughter, adventure and happiness into my life, and I’m so grateful for every chapter we’ve written together. I can’t wait to see where life takes us next. 🥂✨

The past 365 days have been nothing short of incredible. 🌎✈️ From travelling the world and making unforgettable memories, to adventures with friends and family, incredible opportunities and moments I never could have imagined.

I’ve watched sunsets in some of the most beautiful places in the world, but what makes those sunsets truly special isn’t where I was — it’s who I was standing beside. 🌅❤️

I feel so lucky to have had the most amazing people around me to share these experiences with. The laughs, the adventures, the late nights, the memories, the celebrations and all the little moments in between.

Here’s to another year of chasing sunsets, seeing more of the world, saying yes to opportunities, making memories and surrounding myself with the people I love most. 🥂🌎✨
