Greg spoke to Gary after the game this afternoon:

GH| Gary, me again, what positives can you pick out of that performance?

GC| I think how we started the game, the way our pressure or tension to get after them, how aggressive we played with or without the ball, I thought we were excellent. In this level, at any level, you have to score when you’re on top, we didn’t and so the start feels like nothing. What we have to improve in that period is we have to keep believing and keep going, we can’t then take a step back, we obviously had a few moments before the goal but it felt like we kinda took a step back because there wasn’t a goal, so that’s something we can get better at. But, I say it again, the players gave me absolutely everything today, and when they do that I feel like when I come in on Monday it’s another place when your work can only get better for next week.

(More from this tomorrow, and on the show Monday evening.)

So today we caught up with ECFC Captain Pierce Sweeney, to talk to him ahead of this Saturday's game against Huddersfield Town. But first Greg asked him how he was feeling.

PS - Yeah, doing well, I've lost some weight. I'm happy to be back playing.

GH - What was it like to get out of bed on Saturday?
PS - My youngest jumped on me to wake me up.

GH - Is Gary pretending to be Pep Guardiola ahead of Saturday's game against Huddersfield?
PS - No, he's not. We can't play like Man City can.

We went on to ask him about his haircut.
PS - I'm keeping it short. I get compliments from females and males! I shave about every four days. I still go to my barber. My family all like it.

Pierce then asked if Greg liked the haircut - Greg said "you could use it as a football" to which Pierce replied "you cheeky ****!" 😆

The full questioning can be heard on the next Grecian Roar.
