More on the TikTok scam: I can confirm that I have a TT account. I set it up on my mobile phone and now I've managed to log on using the PC. I am hopelessly confused. What is TikTok for? All I see are aimless / mindless videos and I am unable to find the posts offering proof reading jobs. I need help -- such as links to the relevant posts. How do I post a warning to not interact with these people? Thanks.

To reiterate: do NOT engage with this scam.

May I remind everyone: do NOT engage with the scammers on TikTok pushing Alchemy Press jobs. I still haven't had an opportunity to tackle this yet.

TikTok scam update (especially for Megan who emailed me): the email books @ alchemypress . pro has nothing to do with The Alchemy Press. Do not engage with these people.

I have created a TikTok account now but haven't yet learned how it works (it looks a mess, IMO) and wasn't able to find the original post.

The Alchemy Press is currently not looking for new work nor seeking proof readers.

Beware of a scam on TikTok, looking for proof readers. Do not engage with these people via TikTok.

SHADOWPLAYS edited by Peter Coleborn & Mike Chinn . . .

From an old regional theatre on the English coast to a Hollywood sound stage, an odd audition in London, by way of a sad and lonely hotel that attracts a series of strange residents. And much else too. Here are reflections on the nature of truth, how fiction and childish verse can impact reality, and the dangers inherent in retreating from that reality. Photographs and hauntings. Loss and longing. Just how lucky is it being lucky. Strange revenges and even stranger curses.

These nineteen tales of skewed everyday existence, divorced from the outwardly mundane world, demonstrate that all is not quite how it at first appears. These small, uneasy dramas play out in the shadows, in the twilight, hiding from the rational world.

These stories embrace the Shadows.

"This anthology celebrates 25 years of Alchemy Press, and it's a fun read. It has a lot of variety and some great stories! As I most often find with an anthology, there were some hits and misses for me but overall I really enjoyed it. My favourite stories were 'Threadbare' by Jan Edwards and 'Lirpaloof Island' by Garry Kilworth."
