Ooooohh it’s October, the month the clocks go back and dark things happen – so look out for our darkest issue yet dropping through your letterbox! 🖤

This month, we are fully embracing the magic of the dark skies ahead and celebrating Devon Dark Skies Fortnight with Devon Local Nature Partnership who are encouraging everyone to get outside and enjoy local Dark Sky Discovery Sites – meet you at Knapp Copse near Ottery? 🌠

Have more fun in the dark at Glitch E-Sports Exeter’s newest e-sports hub encouraging fun, friendships, and healthy competition 🎮 We sent our work experience student Riley Balkwill (who better than a teen to get the scoop eh?) to review his experience there and needless to say, he was hooked! Find out more in this month’s mag.

As the nights draw in, there’s no better time to indulge in a ‘picky tea’ for ultimate comfort. This month’s foodie feature caters to all tastes, showcasing some of the finest independent delis around offering everything from olives to overnight oats 😋

October’s walk is the Orcombe Point Circular Walk which marks the gateway to England’s only natural UNESCO World Heritage Site, who knew? It’s a stunner, and we urge you to give it a go.

Look out too for our cosy Tahini and Date Banana Bread recipe, a fabulous competition, puzzles, motoring, and so much more in our October issue, out now!

Yup, that's us, the One Mag team - we had just escaped being handcuffed to a table, a chair, and a radiator. Just a casual day in the office? 🤔

Nope, it was a FANTASTIC team day at Excape: Exmouth Escape Rooms and we've been reliving the fun we had ever since.

Read all about our epic escapes and very near misses in our September issue, out now!

This month, we spent 15 minutes with the village pubs which are enjoying a quiet revival - not from brewing company makeovers or celebrity chefs, but from the communities who call these places home 🍻

Discover the reinvention of The Drewe Arms in Drewsteignton which after 75 years of being run by the same landlady (impressive) has now reopened as a community pub.

Read all about it in our September issue, out now!

What do you do after your nine-to-five? 🕰️

For husband-and-wife owners, Jamie and Nik Wilson, it was months of DIY, tasting recipes, and ultimately launching and running their dream restaurant Otter with dogged determination 🍴

Now the Fat Otter runs as a full time gig. It’s this kind of origin story that shapes the way a place feels.

The menu is a playful tug-of-war between comforting classics and surprise combinations, designed to keep loyal locals coming back to try what’s new while seducing first-timers into delicious indecision 🤤

We left feeling like, well, happily fat otters 🦦 – and can’t wait to visit again!
