Ho ho hang on! It’s 1st December and the last One Mag of 2025 is on its way to you 🥳✨

This month, we inspire you to get your craft on and create a Christmas that will last way beyond the season and we have a peaceful countryside walk that is ideal for walking off that extra portion of sprouts… 💨😉

We also paid a visit to The Loft Sidmouth one of Sidmouth’s finest restaurants, and sampled its sublime fare and found out how Devon Communities are reaching out to tackle loneliness during the festive period.

Descending the steps into one of Exeter’s most beloved independents Rendezvous Wine Bar we were immediately wrapped in warmth. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a Spanish cantina or Italian osteria — unpretentious, inviting, and filled with the comforting certainty that both food and wine will be excellent 🍷

Our starters set the tone. The pork, pistachio, apricot and smoked bacon ballotine, with its cranberry chutney and sourdough toast, was a masterclass in balance — rich, tangy, and deeply satisfying. Equally impressive were the pan-seared scallops with pumpkin velouté, apple and hazelnut salsa, and crispy hog’s pudding — a dish that managed to be both delicate and indulgent 👌🏻

This month we are taking to the trails at Haldon Forest Park – a long-favoured destination for families, casual riders, and mountain bikers from across Devon. Get yourself on two (or four) wheels and explore the welcoming network of waymarked trails through the forest – make sure you take the mag with you as a guide 🌳

Who better to send to find out if Exeter’s latest e-sport hotspot is sick, fresh, and lit, than a 15 year old work experience student? 🎮

Here’s what Riley Balkwill had to say about his visit to Glitch E-Sports: “On visiting, I was astounded by the incredible atmosphere created by LED lights glowing in the darkness. That was before I even managed to catch a glimpse of the technology - PCs with an abundance of popular computer games, advanced virtual reality (VR) headsets, racing simulators with wide absorbing screens. It’s all here!”
