Local artist Ethan Pennell will share some of the strange, spooky tales of Devon's folklore. The talk will be illustrated with his own visual interpretations of the stories, and animated by Yellow Mouse Studios,

The illustrations feature in the Dartmoor Folklore map, a moorland guide to the eldritch world of ghosts, pixies, the Devil, witches, wisht places, legends, strange phenomena and more. Seven years in the making, this map was a true labour of love.

This event is Pay What You Can Afford, because we know that everyone’s financial situation is different, and we want the events that make up the "Animating Folklore Festival" to be accessible to as many people as possible.

The recommend ticket price for this event is £7, with tickets from £3

"Animating Devon Folklore" is a two day festival celebrating Devon's folklore with visual arts workshops for children, families, an animated folklore trail, an animation of Devon's Black Dogs and a animated talk from folklorist Ethan Pennell.

All bookable events are "pay what you can afford" starting from £2 for a children's workshop and £3 for the folklore talk

Join us for a family friendly workshop, where we will be creating animations with a zoetrope as part of the "Animating Devon Folklore" Festival, Crediton

You will be creating your own folklore character, and building a zoetrope, that will bring your character to life.

The session is for children 7-13yrs, who can attend on their own, or with one parent/guardian

This event is Pay What You Can Afford, because we know that everyone’s financial situation is different, and we want the events that make up the "Animating Folklore Festival" to be accessible to as many people as possible.

This summer, in collaboration with Devon we are bringing you "Animating Devon Folklore" a two day festival celebrating Devon's folklore with visual arts workshops for children, families, an animated folklore trail, an animation of Devon's Black Dogs and a animated talk from folklorist Ethan Pennell.

Crediton is also home to The Folklore Library and Archive Library and Archive, which will be open to the public 10am and 4pm on the Friday of the festival

To attend a workshop or talk, please reserve your space. These activities have been partially funded by Mid Devon District Council Creative Communities Scheme, and all are subject to "Pay What You Can Afford"

Ani-Mates, is a new visual arts academy launching later this year in Ilfracombe and Crediton, for young people aged 7-11yrs

We currently have vacancies open on the website for a trainer and assistant, ideal for recent graduates wanting a few extra hours and school leavers wanting to gain their first job

We are now into the 2nd week of Wimbledon, grass courts, strawberries, cream and a Pimms. We also have a GB player into his first slam quarter final, Arthur Fery, who was amazing in his match yesterday🎾
