The lesser known Buurma brother - hiding away in Portugal running the factory and surfing every day

Wieger and Jorrit run and operate Appletree themselves - but Wieger has been the face of the brand online for a while now. As soon as we met Jorrit in 2024 we knew we had to chuck him in the limelight a little too - he’s too funny to sit in the background.

We recorded this in his office, after hours in the Appletree factory while on a lads trip to Portugal with some friends. We discuss their new Radix mast connection concept system, upcoming hollow board projects and delve into the new finishing products they’re now using.

It’s techy but enjoyable - a pleasure to listen back to!

3rd times a charm they say! Back in Richies hot tub, post session together and pre party (which got a bit loose) This year we delved relatively deep into actual foiling stuff which might be a surprise!

Been looking forward to doing this for a long time - it’s a great tradition we’ve started for ourselves and long may it continue. It’s been a busy year for all and it’s been a while since the four of us sat down at all - perhaps we need to prioritise doing this more often, even without the mics!

Something a little bit different for you today. Daniel Riley is a full time Youtuber having amassed nearly a million subscribers at the time of recording. His Youtube channel follows his ‘builds’ and interests, which include almost anything that flies in air or water.

In recent years he has done more and more content around hydrofoiling—dockstarting, building his own TowBoogie (Toby the Tow Boat), making one of the world’s largest autopilot efoils with a paddleboard and lawnchair. He is a fascinating character with knowledge and stories to share.

Have a listen and see what we mean. This was recorded on Thur 04/12/2025 2 days before Hugo Wigglesworth recorded a 40m jump on the WOO!!!

He’s held a bit of the limelight this Autumn with this trip to see us in the UK and then a domination at the French Surf foil events - it’s about time we sat down and chatted properly.

A discussion into surf foiling, kit, riding style, judging and why he keeps ballsing up his downwind race prep - please welcome Duke Cactuson.

After spending a week traipsing around Hood River with Luke for a week in 2024 we were very happy to hear he was being shipped over to the UK into our jurisdiction for the Kernow Foil Classic event this year! A very relaxed and very talented chap, this episode reflects exactly that - we hope you enjoy!

One of the most popular episodes from last year, and bound to be one of the most popular episodes this year, please welcome Paul Martin, Co-Founder of Foil Drive.

We love chatting to Paul because he combines an open-book personality with incredibly unique life experiences, which we dig even deeper into in this episode. He is one of those individuals that people instinctively know to pay attention to and listen to.

As well as hearing about the all-new FUSION system (and some complimentary product releases that are still to be released!), you’ll get to know the real Paul Martin (Mr Egg) even better. Who’d have guessed that his whole approach to learning was moulded by hindered vision as a child!?
