Another fantastic evening with Eye Explorer Scouts as part of our Street First Aid sessions! 👏

On Friday the group got hands-on with some vital life-saving skills. We covered CPR, how and when to use a defibrillator (AED), recognising and helping someone during a seizure, and how to spot and treat shock.

The Scouts threw themselves into the practical scenarios and asked some brilliant questions throughout the session. It’s always great to see young people building the confidence to step forward and help someone in an emergency.

These are real skills for real life, the kind of knowledge that could one day save a life.

Well done everyone, you were a credit to your troop! 🚑💙

Street First Aid – Group Two Underway

Last night we commenced training with our second group of Explorer Scouts in Eye as part of our four-session first aid programme. These motivated 14–18 year olds are developing essential first aid capability to support their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions and wider personal development.

The course again incorporates the full Bleed Control Ready programme, focusing on practical management of catastrophic bleeding and other time-critical emergencies, real skills for real life. We are also encouraging participants to consider becoming ambassadors for bleed control awareness within their peer groups and local community.

Throughout the programme, Explorers will have the opportunity to complete the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, providing those who pass with a nationally recognised certificate and a strong addition to their CV as they move towards employment or further education.

Investing in young people’s competence and confidence in first aid strengthens community resilience and this second group has started with real focus and intent.

💜Last night we had the privilege of delivering a Community Adult & Paediatric First Aid Awareness session for Waldringfield Baptist Church.

💜For two hours, Neil and Andy worked with members of the church community, focusing on real skills for real life, practical, hands-on first aid that gives people the confidence to act when it matters most.

We covered:

• Adult & child CPR
• Choking management
• Severe bleeding control
• Recognising serious illness
• What to do in those critical first few minutes before the ambulance arrives

No jargon. No unnecessary kit. Just clear, street-ready skills that can save a life.

Community resilience starts locally, and it was great to see so many people willing to step up and learn how to protect the people around them.

If your church, community group or workplace would like to host a Street First Aid awareness session, get in touch.

Real Skills. Real Life. Real Impact.

Week 4 of 4 – Course Complete ✅🩸🚑

What a finish.

Tonight we completed our four-week First Aid & Bleed Control programme with Explorer Scouts from Eye, and the standard they’ve reached is outstanding.

Over the past month we’ve covered:

✔️ Indoor & outdoor first aid,
preparing for Duke of Edinburgh expeditions
✔️ CPR and defibrillator use
✔️ Choking management
✔️ Severe bleeding & major bleed control
✔️ Burns and scalds
✔️ Shock recognition and treatment
✔️ Seizures and medical emergencies
✔️ And much more

These Explorers haven’t just attended sessions, they’ve practised, scenario-tested, problem-solved and stepped up.

Every single one of them is now trained in Street First Aid and catastrophic bleed control, skills that go far beyond expedition safety and into real-world community response.

There’s been great teamwork, great humour, strong engagement, and genuine commitment to learning. Exactly how first aid education should be delivered.

A huge well done to all Explorers and thank you to the leaders for supporting such valuable life-saving training.

The community is safer because of young people like this. 👏💪

Week 3 done and the momentum is building! 👏🩸

This week we delivered week three of a four-week First Aid & Bleed Control course with 24 Explorer Scouts from Eye, and the energy in the room was spot on.

The Explorers got stuck into:
✔️ Managing catastrophic bleeding
✔️ Hands-on bleed control techniques
✔️ Realistic casualty scenarios
✔️ Thinking clearly under pressure

There was lots of fun, lots of learning, and plenty of practical, hands-on activity. Most importantly, they’re developing real skills for real life, the kind that make a genuine difference in an emergency.

Huge credit to the Explorers for their focus and enthusiasm, and to the leaders for championing vital life-saving education. One more week to go, and it’s shaping up to be a strong finish. 💪🚑

Empowering the next generation with life-saving skills! Street First Aid is proud to support Eye Explorer Scouts with a new series of first aid sessions. These young explorers are gaining essential knowledge for their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions and beyond. Our programme covers the Bleed Control Ready curriculum, teaching them how to manage serious bleeding and medical emergencies. 💜Last night, Street First Aid was proud to deliver two public access bleed control kits to the incredible community of Palgrave. This forward-thinking and proactive village already has two AEDs in place and runs a community volunteer responder service to support people experiencing cardiac arrest.

💜Andy and Neil delivered a Community Bleed Awareness session to 38 local residents at the Community Centre, helping build confidence and practical skills to respond in a real emergency.

💜We also introduced our new Bleed Pouch, an affordable, compact alternative to larger public kits, designed to be kept in cars, workplaces, or community settings so life-saving equipment is always close at hand.

💜A huge thank you to for the fantastic labels and our new training banner, your support helps us look professional and reach more communities.

💜If your community, school, workplace, or venue would like to become bleed-control ready, please get in touch. Together, we can build safer, more prepared communities.

🎄Christmas Day Message – Street First Aid🎄

This Christmas Day, we want to take a moment to reflect on what has been an important and purposeful year for Street First Aid.

Since launching, we have taken real steps toward our mission of equipping communities, particularly young people, with practical, lifesaving skills they can use when it matters most.
From delivering street-first-aid awareness sessions and bleed control education, to building partnerships and developing our Bleed Control Ready vision, the foundations of Street First Aid are now firmly in place.

None of this would be possible without the commitment of our people. Thank you to Andy, Founder and CEO, to our trustees Heide, Bob, Lee and Neil for their guidance, governance and belief in what we are building.

As we look ahead to 2026, we do so with confidence and optimism. The year ahead will focus on expanding our reach, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring even more people have the knowledge and confidence to act in an emergency. There is much more to come, and we are only just getting started.

Wishing our supporters, partners and communities a peaceful Christmas and a safe, hopeful New Year.

❄️ Day 23 – Icy Pavements & Slips

Winter walks can be beautiful, but icy pavements are a common cause of sprains and fractures. Stay safe with these tips:

Avoid slips and falls:

Plan your route and allow extra time.
Wear flat shoes with good grip.
Use handrails and take small steps.
Keep hands free for balance, don’t rush.
Watch out for shaded or rarely cleared areas.
Help the elderly, offer to shop or clear paths.

If you or someone else is injured:
Treat minor sprains with rest, ice, comfortable position, and elevate it if possible. Seek medical attention for fractures or serious injuries.

Stay safe and enjoy the winter season!
