Running a business can be lonely, especially if you feel dumb asking for help!

But ... asking for help isn't dumb!

We don't always know how to do everything required to run a business. Will it succeed if you don't find a way to address that problem? Not if you don't ask ...

Modern training provides flexible access to high quality lessons, enabling:
✅ On-demand lessons that are instantly accessible, that you keep forever
✅ New topics covered each month via a monthly subscription, allowing training to run alongside an existing job, and the cost to be spread over time
✅ Visual learning, that can be revisited quickly and easily on the go via a mobile app or website, using a phone, tablet or computer
✅ Ability to consume training in bite sized chunks, continuing seamlessly when time permits in the future

So, you no longer have to:
❌ Pay a fortune for old fashioned courses
❌ Wait for availability on the next classroom based training course
❌ Travel to training events
❌ Take days out of your busy schedule
❌ Struggle to use training material later, when you actually want to put it into practice...

Got any "stupid questions" you wish you could ask?

Would you have confidence in someone who doesn't believe in themselves? ... neither would I !!

So why might we not believe in ourselves? As long as we:
❓ Have a good target audience for our niche?
❓ Have something they will be interested in?
❓ Know where to find our target audience i.e. where they "hang out"?
❓ Know how to engage with them (organically or paid ads)?
❓ Are comfortable talking or writing about our niche?

✅ ... then we should believe in ourselves!

If we aren't sure we can tick all of the boxes above, then self-doubt will creep in ... if that happens, what will you do?

We find offering insight through our social media posts can often assist our community to realise what they could do for themselves to change, or what other help and support they may need to put that self-doubt to bed.

Know what else to sell to customers when they pick their first product? It's called an upsell, and some of us love it, whilst some of us hate it!

But it works! Because although:
❌ They weren't planning to buy the extra(s) you offered
❌ They wouldn't have come back later to buy them
❌ And some customers were only tempted to buy them ...
✅ .... some customers did buy the extras!

So are you offering extras once a customer has put something in the sales basket? If you're not, you're missing out on sales revenue and profits ...

Sales = Profit = Desired Income? Think again!!!

You'd be surprised how many new businesses set their sales target to match their desired income, ignoring the essential costs of running that business:
❓ Purchasing stock – hard to believe I agree!
❓ Providing a sales store (online or physical location)
❓ Marketing / ad spend
❓ Shipping (if included in product cost)
❓ Subscriptions (email, etc)
❓ Processing fees (credit card, etc)
❓ Insurance
❓ Professional services (accountancy, lawyers, etc)
❓ Staff costs … including themselves as business owner
❓ Corporation and employee taxes

Regardless of your niche, all costs must be deducted before the profit percentage (or margin) can be projected. It's the profit that drives your income, not the sales revenue!

If you fall short on achieving your desired income, you will need to do more market research to establish if your target niche can deliver increased sales, or whether you have picked a niche that can't support your income objective.

And don't ignore the extra costs that come with increases sales ...

People don’t trust strangers ... they trust them even less if they are online companies they have never heard of!

So, what are you doing to help your customer:
❓ Know you?
❓ Learn to like you?
❓ With the goal of trusting you?
✅ So they buy from you?

What are you doing on a daily basis to help your prospective customers find out about you, realise how you can help them, so they can trust you to purchase your products in the future?

Don't let self-doubt take over ... it's a vicious circle that needs to be dealt with!

Easy to say ... yet despite our philosphy of posting useful content for our community, we still all have moments of self doubt.

So if you're asking:
❓ What should I write to help people?
❓ Will anyone see what I write?
❓ Will someone say I'm talking rubbish?
❓ Will anyone benefit from my post?

Don't give in ... remember this is YOUR NICHE, so YOU'VE GOT IT!:
✅ You know MORE than you think you do
✅ Most people WON'T know much as you do about your niche
✅ You do have something USEFUL to say
✅ You will to make a POSITIVE difference to at least one person

Thinking of leaving your current job or regular employment entirely, and wondering what to do next?

Do you need a decent income, but dread the thought of another stressful career role, with a poor work life balance, and no control over what comes next? Or would be happy to do that, but can't find a comparible role to your last one?

You're not alone! Many people reaching middle age are taking time to re-evaluate their options in a way the workforce has never done before. I know, because I did this myself, and it gives you a perspective on what's important to you in a way you can't see until you take the leap to consider getting or staying out.

Many people in "our position" look for alternatives, ideally leveraging core skills we already have. Many like the idea of starting their own business, but worry it will be too difficult. Others give it a go, but find a number of unexpected (to them) challenges that could have been avoided.

When you're starting a business, you probably think marketing to "the whole crowd" is good, but it's probably a mistake ....

Stereotypically, blue is a popular colour for boys clothes, and pink for girls clothes - how popular is a neutral colour like yellow? You can guarantee you won't sell more yellow clothes than blue or pink ones!

If you can't visualise what your perfect customer looks like, how will you make a product that appeals to your target market?

Ask youself if:
❓ My brand (logo, font, colour scheme, website, marketing) appeal to the type of customer I expect to get most sales from?
❓ The product looks like something my ideal customer would want to own?
❓ I stand out positively from the competition?

Remember a lot of people are impulsive, and more likely to be drawn to something that genuinely appeals to them, rather than something made for "the crowd" ...

If your brand and products are properly aimed at your ideal customer, you will:
✅ Take more in sales from your target market, than you would have done from marketing a neutral product to everybody
✅ Get extra sales from other customer types, including people buying gifts for others within your target market

"Best thing since sliced bread" ... I mean it really isn't that big a change, but it served a useful purpose.

It was introduced by an independent inventor, who did the necessary market research to find out what people wanted, found the right business people that were interested and trusted him, and built his business that way.

We aren't likely to come up with a "game changing" solution ourselves, but we can run our businesses in "life changing" way by:
✅ Doing our market research
✅ Finding the right niche ... it does NOT have to be unique, but it helps if the service is!
✅ Targetting the right prospective customers for the niche
✅ Marketing to them via the right channels
✅ Being trustworthy enough to do business with

Don't be afraid to think outside of the box, but make sure that whatever you decide to do is supported by effective market research ... a lot of which can be done for free! Are you doing yours?

People don't trust strangers ... so they won't do business with them!

Human nature takes us through a journey before we trust someone. First we get to know them, then we start to like them. And then we decide whether to trust them ... you can't miss out a step.

It's the same in business, we just get to know them and like them in different ways.

What are you doing to help your customer:
❓ Know you?
❓ Learn to like you?
❓ With the goal of trusting you?
✅ So they do business with you?

If you're not getting sales, ask yourself if you've put in the effort with your prospective clients to enable them to trust you yet...

You can't do everything yourself ... if you try, you (your health and/or business) will suffer!

There are some things in life we almost always delegate to other people ... when's the last time you serviced your own car, or cut your own hair?

Why would you get help running a business?

Do you know how to:
❓ Decide what work to delegate or outsource?
❓ Define what outcome you want from that work?
❓ Find a good supplier at the right price?
❓ Measure them against the quality you defined, within the timeframe and cost parameters you set?

If you struggled (or think you may in the future) with outsourcing, comment below 👇 and we will send you our FREE case study on Common Problems when Launching a Business 👇👇

This is not just a small business problem - I have a background in IT advisory work, and I am frequently amazed by the lack of governance companies (often large ones!) have over their suppliers. It is often due to the fact they don't have the right skills to manage supplier performance. Instead they simply trust them to "do the right thing" ... you won't be surprised to hear that doesn't always turn out well!

How ready are you to effectively outsource work so your business can grow?
