Today we celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VE (Victory In Europe) Day. VE Day, 8 May 1945, marked the official end of WWII in Europe with the Allies acceptance of the unconditional surrender of all German forces. The official surrender was met with great jubilation across Europe. However, the war in the Pacific would rage on until August of 1945, when the Japanese government would officially announce their surrender.
