Your Tidy Space

Your Tidy Space Professional Declutterer and Organiser Hi! I’m Francesca and I am passionate about organising.

As a mum of two young children I understand what a difference a tidy organised space can make to maintaining a happy home. I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology and have worked in various roles all of which have given me relevant experience which can be applied in my role as a professional organiser. I get huge satisfaction and joy from turning a messy, disorganised room (or drawer, cupboar

d, whole house!) into a tidy, calm, usable space. I am a member of the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers (APDO).

Just 2 hours to turn this outbuilding from chaos to calm! 🧹💪
A few bits went to the local charity shop, some made their way to the recycling centre, and the rest were grouped into zones that actually make sense based on how often they’re used.
Outbuildings like this can so easily become clutter magnets — especially after a big garden or DIY project when it’s tempting to just shove things in and call it a day (definitely guilty of this 🙋‍♀️!).
But taking a bit of time now and then to reset the space really helps keep it functional. And the trick? Make it just as easy to put things away as it is to grab them. Future you will thank you. 🙌✨

Thinking about decluttering but need a little nudge?

Here’s something to keep in mind: even when we don’t notice it, our brains are busy processing everything around us — and that includes all the clutter. It can quietly drain your energy!

The good news? Clearing out even a little can make your space (and your mind) feel so much lighter. You’ve got this! 💪

It’s been a while but I thought I’d drop in to say hello and share a couple of pics from a recent client session, which was a mammoth shoe-sorting job!

This handy cupboard was choc-full, totally overwhelming and therefore had been shut and avoided. So many lovely pairs that would give Cinderella a run for her money, unworn and forgotten about! We chatted about how likely each pair were to be worn again, the majority of which weren’t and so were passed on to the local charity shop ready to be loved and worn again 👠 ❤️

A couple of the most spectacular pairs were kept, and I’m hoping at some stage to create a nice way for my client to have them out on display as decoration where they can still be enjoyed even if not in the conventional way! 🤩

The theme for APDO’s Spring Clearing Week 2025 is ‘Your Legacy’, raising awareness of how our choices around home organisation and clutter impact our loved ones even when we’re no longer here.

This can feel incredibly uncomfortable to think about, of course. But I do feel quite passionately that if we all had an awareness of this theme throughout our lives, from when we move into our first adult home, then it would save a lot of clutter from building up and spare our loved ones some work once we’re not here. The younger we adopt this way of thinking, the less it has end-of-life connotations to it and feels easier to do. It’s not about getting rid of everything or being minimalist, it’s about being mindful about what we’re keeping and thinking about the impact beyond our own lives.

This is a category of clutter that I think many of us have. The things you buy, with the expectation that they’ll improve you or your life in some way. And then they sit there, waiting to be used, and the guilt builds up the longer they’re untouched 😣

⭐️ Whilst I absolutely think that having goals to work towards is brilliant and to be encouraged, holding on to old goal purchases which are now clutter, is not great for your home or your mind. Who needs to be reminded of something they planned to do but haven’t? Be realistic and kind to yourself! Life is busy, and so we can easily make excuses for not using them. But, if you now look at them and feel as though they’re a chore rather than an exciting invitation, it’s time for them to go. Stop the ‘that was a fail’ mental story, take control and make space. I bet you’ll feel relieved when you do!

Recent before and after pics from a wonderful job I had helping a lady with various disabilities to declutter and organise her home. We worked on 2 rooms, but as usual in the majority of sessions I got stuck in before remembering to take before photos 🤦🏼‍♀️ so these are just a couple of the spaces we worked on. This client is an avid crafter and had lots and lots of crafting goodies squirrelled away which we sorted through. I love what I do, and this job in particular was hugely uplifting! 🫶🏻

I’ve been a listener to Lisa’s podcast for a while now, and when she mentioned on there that she’d like to invite guests on to talk through their style dilemmas, I excitedly sent her a message. I’ve recently found myself overthinking outfit combinations and wanted Lisa’s expertise to help me see the wood for the trees!

After speaking to Lisa, I felt fired up to declutter my wardrobe and enlisted the help of my lovely mum and sister to assist me (because wardrobe decluttering is so much more fun when you do it with someone else who can hold you accountable and help you make your decisions). I managed to part with far more than I expected, many items of which were just not ‘me’ anymore, and now I feel a little bit bolder when choosing what to wear. I can still mostly be found in a black jumper of some variety, but now there’ll be a few more non-black outfit days thrown in there! Thank you for having me on the show Lisa!

Do you want to declutter and organise your wardrobe and want back up? DM me or give me a call, I’d love to help you! 🙌

If you’re a highly organised person who doesn’t struggle at all with parting with belongings, it can be tricky to get your head around the idea that someone else may find it difficult to maintain calm order in their home.

But for various reasons, sometimes only for a season, the balance can be tipped from finding it tricky, to needing a helping hand, and that’s where I come in! I’m here if you need me and I absolutely love helping people through from varying degrees of chaos to calm.

People often say to me ‘I bet your house is incredibly tidy’. For the majority of the time, it is reasonably tidy, but it’s also a lived in, non-perfect, relaxing family home. With kids around and busy lives, it’s just not realistic to expect a home to be pristine at all times.

However, I would say that my home is easy to tidy, because (almost) everything has an assigned storage space, and that’s the key. Once you’ve decluttered and created a system for where to store things, you can put them away without having to make any decisions. Reducing these micro-decisions adds up and has a big positive impact on our mental wellbeing 😌

I love a good Kallax playroom sort out! Here’s how we sorted this space:

⭐️ Took everything out
⭐️ Sorted into categories as we went
⭐️ Set aside the items no longer suitable for my client’s kids ready to donate to charity
⭐️ Binned/recycled any which weren’t wanted but weren’t donation-worthy
⭐️ Put things back in a logical way, keeping categories together as best we could so that things can be easily found and enjoyed 🤩

When you group like with like, it’s so much easier to see exactly what you have and spot duplicates. Simple but essential step!

Very excited that my partnership with Curchods is now live! They’re offering 5 hours of decluttering and organising with me to any new sales instructions they receive. I think it’s fantastic that Curchods are offering this added benefit, making the moving process a little bit easier for their clients. Let’s go! 💪 🏡 🤝
