On 20 September 2026 in Yiwu County, Hami, Xinjiang, China, Dondel officially launched its Green Hydrogen-to-SAF project with a capacity of 100 000 tpy and an ¥11 billion investment.

This is China’s first demonstration project integrating green hydrogen with carbon-negative aviation kerosene production, and it is also the country’s largest demonstration project of its kind along the same technology pathway.

MITECO has begun processing the first segments of Spain’s renewable hydrogen backbone network, developed by Enagás. These infrastructures, considered Projects of Common European Interest (PCI), will require an investment of €389 million and are linked to three significant projects in Andalusia, Aragon, and the Basque Country. 🇪🇸

All three have received public funding and are considered to be key drivers of economic activity, bringing together hydrogen producers and consumers who are ready to make investment decisions.

The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) is processing the first sections of Spain's hydrogen backbone network, linked to three major projects in Andalusia, Aragon, and the Basque Country.

Nel Hydrogen US, a subsidiary of Nel ASA, has secured additional purchase orders from Collins Aerospace for PEM electrolyser stacks used in submarine life-support systems.

In aggregate, the newly received orders related to US, UK, and French naval programmes have a value of approximately US$7 million. Together with the US$12 million purchase order announced on September 29 2026, and additional smaller orders received in September, Nel's submarine-related order intake from Collins Aerospace totals approximately US$20 million. All orders will be booked as order intake in the 3Q26.

The opening ceremony was held at the ‘New Energy Summit 2026’ in the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) building on 23 September 2026, following the Chief Executive’s announcement of ‘Hong Kong’s First Five-Year Plan’ and the ‘2026 Policy Address’ which set out initiatives to accelerate new energy development, advance green transformation, and actively promote the hydrogen industry.

Establishing hydrogen testing and certification capabilities that are aligned with international standards serves as a critical foundation for accelerating the adoption, commercialisation, and wider application of hydrogen technologies, strengthening the hydrogen supply chain infrastructure and accelerating new energy and green transformation in Hong Kong.

Lithuania's gas transmission system operator Amber Grid and the company Ernst & Young Baltic have signed a contract for the economic and financial analysis of the Lithuanian section of the Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor (NBHC). 🇱🇹 💚

The NBHC is important for Lithuania due to it providing the opportunity to become part of the emerging regional hydrogen market, making use of the country's renewable energy potential and strengthening the conditions for the development of the hydrogen market.

Hydrasun GmbH, a leading hydrogen solutions provider, has signed a contract with hydrogen supplier, FPS.Energy GmbH, to supply two HyQube 500 and one HyQube 850 refuelling systems to a public bus company in Brandenburg, Germany. 🚌 💚 🇩🇪

The project underlines the growing confidence among European public transport operators in hydrogen as an alternative to diesel, and the increasing demand for refuelling infrastructure to support the transition to zero emission vehicles.

Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Nikkiso CE&IG) has announced a new solution to high boil-off gas rates at hydrogen fuelling stations with the launch of a next-generation reciprocating pump. ✅

Building on the success of Nikkiso CE&IG’s P2K pump, tests have demonstrated the capability of the P2KHF pump to pressurise and transfer liquid hydrogen with losses of less than 1%, making it ideal as either a boost pump or a standalone subcooled liquid hydrogen refuelling pump.

At the invitation of His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, paid an official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany from 29 - 30 September 2026. 🇰🇿 🤝 🇩🇪

In a Joint Declaration, both Presidents commended the cooperation between their countries since the Republic of Kazakhstan gained its independence. In view of the experience acquired in over three decades of successful cooperation, mutual trust, and the increasingly profound political dialogue at the highest level, they look positively to continued close cooperation.

Hyster has announced the delivery of a hydrogen fuel cell-powered ReachStacker to Rotterdam Shortsea Terminals (RST) in the Netherlands as part of a joint initiative exploring the role of hydrogen in the future of port and logistics decarbonisation. 🔋 🚢

The delivery formed part of a major Dutch hydrogen innovation project, supported by the EU, to help assess lower-emission solutions for heavy-duty materials handling applications.
