We are continuing our ‘Groomer of the Week’ feature, to highlight someone from the industry to our followers.
Our Groomer of the week this week is the incredible Paige Tulloch!
Tell us briefly the story of your career so far, and where you find yourself in today?
I have been grooming for almost four years now. I trained in 2021 at a grooming academy in Scotland and have since trained internationally as well as continued personal development. I started off by renting a table in another groomer’s salon where I worked crazy long hours trying to build my clientele and my brand "Tulloch’s Tails". In the summer of 2024, I took the plunge and opened my own salon in my home city of Edinburgh, which has been very successful and I now have a wonderful team working for Tulloch's Tails. I have found my true passion in competition grooming, mostly in Asian style, as a member of groom team Scotland's Asian Freestyle Team.
What do you love most about the grooming industry?
I love how creative we can be in the grooming industry; you can challenge yourself as much as you would like to and can push yourself to learn new things. I also love how many friends I have made who truly share the passion for dogs and dog grooming within the industry.
What are your short and long-term goals?
My short terms goals, I want to continue to learn and master the craft. I will soon be dipping my toes into the poodle classes at competitions. My long term goals would be to become champion level in Asian and Poodle and to continue with Groom Team Scotland.
Please share any advice or words of encouragement you would like to offer fellow groomers?
I would always encourage groomers to be themselves first and foremost, don't be scared of what anyone else thinks. Nobody ever got anywhere without trying. Believe in yourself and treat others how you would like to be treated yourself. Be kind to the dogs and remember, you couldn't do any of this without them. The bond between groomer and dog is so very important.
We look forward to following Paige in the show scene and with Groom Team Scotland, keep up the amazing work.
