The Shipwright's Arms at Hollowshore has been a pub for over 300 years and much of it has not changed very much in all that time. It is family run and we serve real ales from the cask, and a selection of food much of which is home made. To find out more, visit our website at: theshipwrightsarmspub.co.uk, or check us out on Facebook or Instagram.

I try to avoid politics on this page, but this had to be said.
So Kier Harmer has once again demonstrated how out of touch with the real world he and his government are. Increasing pub hours will help he says, really!
Pubs are reducing their opening hours, since ‘early doors’ are the new norm. Later nights are not the answer as no one can afford to pay staff to man an empty pub.
All my friends in the trade say the same thing, rocketing running costs and customers with much less disposable income are the problem.
Supermarkets pay far less tax on alcohol so can sell it much cheaper than the pubs. Energy costs for businesses have trebled.
This inept, incompetent and totally useless government are overseeing the demise of the great British pub. Many more will close this year as it becomes impossible to make a living or even survive. Rachael from accounts needs to do some basic math and understand that fewer pubs means less income and more job losses.

Good morning all. Happy Thursday! It’s nearly the weekend so why not plan some ‘chill out’ time at the Shipwright’s. No background music, no games machines, no distractions. Just conversation with friends old and new.

Good morning all. It looks like an improvement in the weather over the next few days. Why not pop down to the Shipwright’s and enjoy some ‘down time’ in this unique example of a traditional British pub. Real ale served straight from the cask, (shh - don’t tell anyone yet, but we are once again in the the CAMRA good beer guide 2026). Home made food available at certain times. Every customer helps keep this family run free house going for future generations to enjoy.
Thanks for your support.

The hospitality trade is not easy at the moment as you have probably heard, so it is you that are keeping us going, striving to keep the Shipwright’s as a traditional, ‘old fashioned’ pub.
Thank you everyone, your support is very much appreciated.
It looks like summer is making a brief comeback this weekend, so why not pop down and enjoy the garden?

The Faversham Hop Festival is great for the town and it’s businesses and so many people come to enjoy the event . But for those who prefer to avoid the hustle and bustle, the Shipwright’s offers a haven of peace and quiet, just a ten minute drive from the town centre. Alternatively take a stroll along the sea wall or across the marsh.
