“Walked the winding and windy path around the creek to the Shipwrights yesterday. Lovely walk despite the weather doing its best to blow us off course. It was worth it to have a nice pint and lunch in one of the most friendliest, unspoilt pubs in Kent. Your pub is like an oasis on the creek!”

A brisk walk across the marsh or along the sea wall rewarded with a glass of mulled wine and maybe one of our thick cut sandwiches. It’s what winter days are for!

This old and iconic pub is steeped in history and has survived many a natural disaster, including floods and covid to name just two.
The latest threat is the current economic downturn, which is seriously effecting many small rural and destination pubs. We appreciate that people are feeling the pinch, but hope that if you can, you support us and other small pubs by visiting and helping us survive for future generations.
Thank you for all your likes and shares in the past few months, your help is very much appreciated.

‘Pirate Plunder’ is a quirky but great magazine published 3 times a year, actively promoting and supporting charitable fund raising activities. Many towns, including Faversham, now have a pirate festival every year and the magazine supports and promotes these. We are delighted to be included in the November issue. Find them on the internet.

Thank you to everyone who visited us this weekend. We sold out of roast dinners! The weekdays were very quiet so your support was vital.
Like all small pubs and many in the hospitality business, it is getting harder to maintain viability. We appreciate that many people are struggling with the current economic climate, but if you can visit and support your local pub please do - your help is vital in keeping the traditional pub alive for future generations.
