How i shot an award winning short film…

At the beginning of 2024 I posted my 4th short film “The Vice”.

A short, black and white horror film.

It went on to win 2 “Best Cinematography” awards.

I’ve never won anything before, so it was awesome to see a project I specially made for cinematography to be awarded.

So I thought Id make a video of the process that went into making that short film. Even if only for myself to look back on in the future.

Back in July I went on holiday down in Cornwall - I love that place!

Took an old Leica point & shoot with me and shot my first time on film since I was a kid.

It’s actually been really fun waiting for the photos to come back, hoping I had a couple of nice shots! 📸

So a few weeks ago sent me their new lights, the C100 and the CM15.

I wanted to do something different than just a review.

I wanted to showcase the lights in real situations in indie film making.

I had also just watched Goodfellas 🎥😎

That’s a wrap! 🎥🎬

So my latest short horror film has been in the works for over a year. Started Co-writing this project last year with and started filming in feb 2023.

We had a big pause in the shooting due to general life and waiting for the right weather. Last night we got the intro shot, as the weather was perfect 🌧️

Looking forward to showing you all the final results with this one. Big thanks to all involved!
