Spotted something really cool in development — Tides of Ruin is an upcoming narrative skirmish game set in a drowned world of pirate warbands, cursed relics, and sea-bound horror.

It blends brutal close-quarters combat with campaign-driven storytelling, and even features ship-to-ship mechanics alongside land battles.

Definitely one to watch if you’re into grimdark fantasy, narrative wargames, or anything with barnacles and blood.

Been back on the Terrain Train again and managed to finish up some more of these walls - These are giving me a more church/gothic vibe and I fancied the ides of using them as a bit of a scenic base for my sisters of battle... but then I thought otherwise!

I tried a more reactive technique to get more of a weathered concrete look that had been exposed to the elements for a long time - this was achieved by building up some "sublayers" of paint and then redacting back with IPA 99% - a bit messy but a lot of fun and I love the effect it gave with the streaking and weathering.

Been working on some scenery in the background as our local gaming group has started playing a lot more Sci-Fi games and we didn't have much terrain to use.

Here are three armoured roadblocks/barricades made from MDF - Sometimes it can be tough to make MDF not look like MDF due to its odd sharp angles and lack of texture but to be honest I think these needed very little work - Finished with a coat of matt varnish and now they are ready to be added to the table!

Been working a few heads for some sisters of battle recently. Planning to use these in a bit of a narrative campign of inquisitor (54mm but in 28mm scale).

Not done many heads in the past so was great fun to see how far I could push it. The face tattoo took me forever and almost blew my eyes out. So tiny! 🤣🤣

Super happy with the results and can't wait to get the rest of her finished so she can spread the emperors light!

Iv been kit bashing a few Maggotkin of Nurgle Blight Kings recently and ran out of shields as I wanted a unit of 5 guys all with sword and board. SO needed to use something from the Stomcast kit to make a shield. I think the pose works quite well as the open arms are a nice mix of "come and get some" and also potentially after a shield bash or something. I roughed up the shield with my hobby knife and pin drill to make it sufficiently Nurgly and then sculpted a basic strap from green stuff. I flopped the strap over the shield to make it interesting as I wanted it to look a bit like a cross between a strap and a te****le - Perfect! Now onto painting!

What would a caster be without something cool to cast - Been working on this Burning Head Endless Spell I picked up second hand and wanted to give it a paint job that was simple but effective. The army colour for my IronJaws if that strong orange so I felt like it made sense to not only do the fire orange (as that is kinda the colour fire is) but also to tie it into the army. I used the airbrush to load in some low lights with a dark purple to give it some more contrast in the flames. Just a bit of basing and we are ready for the table - Came out great I think! Very... heavy metal?! 🤟🤟

More Orks today and this time started work on and AOS ( ) weirdnob shaman for an Orruk Iron Jaws force. Skin coming along nicely except from a few highlights and almost completed the face. Great model with some really nice details and a great opportunity to work on muscles highlights and skin tones.
