🎤 JOKERS ENTERTAINMENT ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE ANDY ‘STEDDERS’ STEDMAN AS OUR NEW HEAD OF COMEDY

Coming off another fantastic Edinburgh Fringe, the timing couldn’t be better as we continue to grow our comedy division.

Stedders will initially focus on developing our comedy management arm, helping comedians develop their careers and create new opportunities.

We’ll let the man himself take it from here...

Hi, I’m Andy Stedman, or Stedders to most people who know me.

I’m excited to be joining Jokers Entertainment as Head of Comedy, initially building the management arm and helping some fantastic acts achieve their goals.

In 2015 I enrolled in a comedy course and did my first stand-up gig that December. I loved it and got some laughs, which always helps!

I started doing open spots with comedy songs and jokes before running my own gigs alongside performing. You can’t beat a live audience where anything can happen.

Eleven years on, a lot has happened.

I founded, organise and fund the £10,001 British Comedian of the Year, with the biggest cash prize in UK comedy.

I produce and promote gigs through The Stand-Up Club (branded as Getaway Comedy), MC and perform professionally in the UK and abroad, and run comedy workshops and 1-2-1 sessions.

I’ve always loved building businesses. At 13 I had a car-wash business with a few lads working for me, bought and sold stuff at school and ran a weekly footie sweepstakes.

After uni I started Dodgeball UK, still running today, providing events to grown-ups who want to dodge, duck, dip, dive and drink (soft drinks are also available).

Outside business I have a lovely (and quite scary) wife, two lively boys, Freddie and Charlie, and a mad choc lab called Winnie.

I’m also player-manager of a vets football team, a UEFA qualified coach and manage youth teams with my boys. Occasionally I sit down and do nothing for a few minutes.

The Jokers team are a fab bunch of entrepreneurial people who get stuff done and don’t just talk about it. I’m buzzing to be working with them and creating something exciting.

Jokers would like to send our warmest congratulations to Tony and Steph on their 10-year wedding renewal — and an extra special happy 40th to Tony.

Tony has been with us the longest of any of our managed acts, and in that time he's become one of the most professional and exceptional talents the UK has to offer. Not a word of that is said lightly. He works harder than anyone, he never lets a room down, and we're genuinely proud to have him with us.

Supporting Tony and Steph on the day was one of our Jokers directors, Lewis, pictured here as their celebrant. A lovely thing to be asked to do, and an even lovelier day to be part of.

Long-term working relationships are built on commitment and support like this. Ten years of marriage and many more years of working together — here's to plenty more of both.

🎤 We're proud to announce our biggest ever Jokers Comedy Club tour! 🎤

This August, we'll be bringing 21 live comedy nights across 5 fantastic Parkdean Resorts over just 29 days, featuring almost 50 incredible comedians from across the UK.

We had approximately 3 seconds to decide what was truly important...

Did we grab company files? ❌
Did we save confidential documents? ❌
Did we secure expensive equipment? ❌

One of us saved a coffee. ☕
One of us protected the artificial greenery. 🌴
And we couldn’t leave Darci behind! 💁🏽‍♀️

“Just a reminder that in the event of a fire, please exit the building immediately and do not rescue your iced latte.”

Priorities were revealed today... and apparently none of them were work-related. 🔥🤣
