Floyd fans, this one goes beyond the dark side. 🌑

Floyd in Folkestone comes to Quarterhouse on 28 and 29 August. Day one brings Lee Harris and Dom Beken of Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets together with The Orb to perform Metallic Spheres live for the first time. Day two features Dark Side of the Moon in full quadraphonic sound, with special guests including former Pink Floyd vocalist Durga McBroom.

Beach lunch, sea views and an alcoholic slushie? Tikis understood the assignment. 🌊

Christina and Lewis Jackson run Tikis Bar and Kiosk overlooking Sunny Sands. From 8am to 4pm daily, the menu includes fresh salads, wraps and £7 kids’ lunch boxes. As day turns into evening, cocktails and alcoholic slushies take over, with DJs and live music on selected dates. Follow for updates.

Pretty in pink and perfectly timed for summer. 🍨

Mark Nute and Huda Ali are behind , the new gelato shop at 36 The Old High Street. They’re serving eight premium Cremoloso flavours, including sorbet and at least one vegan gelato – pistachio at the time of opening. The plan is to stay open year-round, with other takeaway treats joining the menu as temperatures drop.

We are hiring! Looking for a distributor to join the team for our Folkestone Foghorn publication 👏 🗞️

Seeking a local individual to navigate the streets of Folkestone and the surrounding areas to dish out, drop off and divulge our magazine stockists.

The ideal candidate will have their own transport and be available to distribute each seasonal issue across key dates (usually Thursday to Sunday) with individual top-ups in between, starting with Winter.

Working closely with our distribution, social and editorial teams, you will share updates and a selection of situational snaps of our stockists during drop-offs. You’ll also be responsible for the collection of magazine bundles from the holding venue in Thanet on set times on publication day.
