So here's the thing, as a DJ I'm all about House & Garage. But, as a listener I love all sorts - funk, motown, soul, dnb, electronica, rock, pop, hip hop, r&b, gospel, classical...

I was raised on Classical music, Opera, i played the violin, piano, drums and percussion. I love musical theatre and singing.

Then I discovered other stuff like The Prodigy, Roni Size, Jamiroquai, and started raving to DnB then UKG.

I used to be snobby about music, but I remember when I did my Masters in Sound Art, it opened my mind and since then I've realised music is so personal, and quite frankly if you get a good feeling from it, it is valid!

I now also understand, certainly for me personally as an Audhd-er that music is all about feeling. So I either love something or I don't. I cannot explain the feelings, the music, I just love it or I don't. I can respect an artist but the music does nothing for me. I can become obsessed with an artist and listen to them on repeat and it brings me joy!

So, my latest obsession is Kpop, in particular (pictured here). I know lots of people would make fun of Kpop, but I don't care! I love these guys, and yeah it is sometimes cheesy pop, but they do write and produce, and they are brilliant performers.

Pushed myself to go out and socialise last night, a rarity for me these days! But so worth it to see my 'Frome As F**k' ladies (just missing one member)! Known this lot since school days...and we will be friends for life.

Over the last few years, a lot of my friendships have changed as I've figured out my neurodivergence, started setting boundaries, and learned to unmask. It is so good to feel like I can be myself and feel accepted and supported, and these ladies do just that.

They will have food, but I will opt out due to my sensory processing issues with food. I get anxious about arrangements, they reassure me, meet me outside....these little things mean the world.

My awesome daughter, No2, is taking on the 100 squats a day challenge to help raise money for Cancer Research UK

After a few weeks away from the decks, studio & teaching, it feels good to be back!

I'm learning to honour my own needs and I knew I was heading for burnout so took the decision to have some time to rest & recharge (not that I get much time for that, but it was one less thing to think about!).

We live in a society that encourages us to keep going no matter what, but it can be counterproductive. I want my students to get the best of me so sometimes I do need to take some downtime.
