Good evening brethren,
What a fantastic night at Hawick Lodge 111 at the Border Quarrymen's AGM on the 29th March where our chairman Euan Heard , secretary Andy McMenamin, and deputy chairman Mark Forsyth passed the reigns to our new Borders Quarrymen team. For all those unaware the new Border's Quarrymen elected offices have been passed to the following brethren
Chairman - Peter Farquhar, Lodge Melrose 1bis
Deputy chairman -Jack Brown, Lodge 32 Selkirk
Secretary - Jake Hume, Lodge Hawick 111
Provincial grand representative - Mick Laidlaw, Lodge Hawick 111
We are looking forward to working with you all and to help everyone get the most out of theor masonic experience. We hope to encourage Masonic education, help fundraise for charity, and create lasting friendships amongst our brethren in the fraternity.
I want to give a big thank you to brother McMenamin and brother Heard, who as we all know have been a massive drive in the creation of this group and are probably gonna be my best friends for quite a few months through the process of learning the ropes! Without your help in organising and setting up events we wouldn't be at the stage we are with over 34 active members, you should both be very proud of your achievements.
I also want to thank the Provincial Grand Lodge of The Scottish Borders and our Provincial grand Master Andrew Forsyth for all the support and encouragement with the young masons initiative, the new team are excited to continue the work of our predecessors and help promote freemasonry throughout the Scottish Borders.
Look out for more in the coming weeks, and we hope to meet and greet you all soon.
