What a way to celebrate Dave’s birthday! 🥳⛵️💙

We spent the weekend exploring the beautiful Channel Islands, enjoying some amazing food, cycling around Alderney, discovering stunning beaches and incredible views, before sailing over to Guernsey to catch up with friends.

Weekends like this remind us exactly why we chose this life. Here’s to more adventures, more sunsets, and making memories along the way. 🌊⚓️

Using our tiny washing machine for the first time onboard. 🧺⚓ It’s funny how the smallest things can bring the biggest smiles. 😊

It may be small, but having fresh laundry at sea makes the boat feel even more like home.

Every day we’re learning something new, settling into life onboard, and appreciating the little comforts along the way. Here’s to many more small milestones on this adventure. ⚓🧺💙

⚓️ Hidden problems are all part of bringing an old yacht back to life…

After noticing the chain plate had lifted from the deck, I started investigating and found the real issue hidden behind the teak cladding in the V-berth. Over many years, water had slowly found its way in and completely rotted the bulkhead.

The only solution was to strip it all back, remove the damaged timber, and rebuild it properly. A new piece of marine ply was shaped and fitted, bonded with epoxy, then glassed into place with fibreglass for strength. Once finished, the teak cladding was refitted and the area redecorated.

A big job completed, and another major step towards making this yacht strong and ready for the adventures ahead. Next up — removing the old overstay and fitting a new inner furler! ⛵️🔧

Every repair is another step closer to casting off and sailing the world. 🌎🌊

Out with the old manual anchor winch… and in with the new! ⚓️🔧
A huge upgrade for life aboard — our new 1500W electric anchor winch is now fitted and ready to make dropping and retrieving the anchor a whole lot easier. Another step forward in getting the yacht ready for the adventures ahead! 🌊⛵️

Early morning coffee watching the sunrise over the water ☕🌅
A cold but beautiful sail back to Devon with that fresh sea air and a proper chill in the wind. 🌬️⚓

The dolphins came to visit us again and stayed alongside for a while — moments that never stop feeling special 🐬
Meanwhile Harley kept a careful eye out for landfall like the loyal crew member he is 🐾

We finished the day with a king prawn pasta onboard, watching the sunset fade across the marina sky 🍝🌅

From sunrise coffee to sunset skies… just making memories out here at sea ❤️

🇬🇬 So much to see in Guernsey ✨
From stunning coastal views to so much history around every corner ❤️

One of our favourite spots was The Little Chapel — one of the smallest chapels in the world, beautifully decorated with shells, pebbles, and colourful broken china 🐚⛪️

Huge thanks again to Lisa & Steve for showing us around this amazing island — we loved every minute ☀️
