A vote for the Lib Dems is a vote for mismanagement, poor services and HIGHER COUNCIL TAX......FACT!
The full statement:
A vote for the Lib Dems is a vote for poor services, poor policies and higher council tax.
Liberal Democrat Councils:
●In Somerset the council's new computer system was disastrous causing recruitment and
planning delays.
● In Hinkley & Bosworth they failed to adopt a plan to protect against inappropriate
development.
● In Stockport they dithered and delayed on housing policy.
● In St Albans accusations of a culture of secrecy to avoid public scrutiny.
● In Southwark anti vehicle policy caused gridlock and congestion. We do not need more
congestion or parking issues in Gateshead. Trinity Square access and Coatsworth Rd have
enough current issues plus many more!
● Let's not forget Lib Dem Councils have some of the highest council tax increases averaging
5.17%. Durham Reform UK council delivered the lowest increase in the region!
We aim to deliver the value for money
Lib Dems tend to omit national policy often from their literature. That is because it largely won't
resonate with many people in Gateshead. The climate change policies and net zero increases
utility bills and within the Council replacing the fleet with electric vehicles will be costly.
In Gateshead attendance at meetings by some Liberal Democrat Councillors has been less than
perfect. Efectiveness requires participation in order to scrutinise policy and hold the Labour
administration to account.
They may be good at having their members litter pick or clean the town centre but they have a
poor record in local government and in coalition with the Tories in the past in national
government. A vote for them will only cause more mismanagement, poorer service delivery,
costly policies and higher council tax increases, fact!
