Sunniside Nights ⭐️ David Bowie

Popped down to the Sunniside Nights social on Friday, there was tons going on and a gorgeous sunny night too. Sunniside was really buzzing but my go to venue was the Twentyfournortheast art gallery on Fawcett Street as I was busting my pants to see the collection of art work by none other than David Bowie himself. Quite a small collection and only on display for that evening so it was defo worth the trip.

My fave piece was a tiny self portrait which really captures the essence of Bowie. What a legend ⭐️🎸

Massive thanks to everyone who came along to Sunday’s Back in Time and yet again (🫣) I was up against it being last match of the season. Ahhh … do not do gigs on match days.

Anyway, good times! My next event is SKAVILLE on Sunday, 5 July at Ada’s Bar for another stompin afternoon of Ska, 2-Tone and Mod revival sounds.

Club a’Gogo Theatre production

Had a very productive meeting with this lovely guy a couple of weeks ago. John is a theatre Director and also an actor who has put on productions in the past based on North East social history.

Very early days but it would be fantastic to see a ‘talking heads’ type of theatre based on the memories of the original Newcastle mods and others who were also lucky enough to have experienced this very special club in the 1960s.

Hopefully this will develop into a very real project. I’ll keep you posted .
