BREAKING NEWS – South Shields

A large fire broke out on Sea Road in South Shields late last night.

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service say crews are currently dealing with the incident, which is believed to involve a building at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park.

Images sent to Affinity Radio show flames coming from part of the site, with police tape now in place around the area.

Fire crews are asking the public to avoid Sea Road while the incident remains ongoing.

Residents living nearby are also being advised to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution.
