Last year I planned a 3-week solo trip to stay with friends in Utah, and head to the Nauvoo Pageants. In Feb this year it all fell apart, but a couple of months later, still feeling massively prompted to go, I decided to make the trip anyway, and take my 10-year old son, Bear, with me! And so we went! Over the next few days, I'll be documenting our 2-week trip, which is almost coming to a close (we've been so busy, but I'm on an Amtrak train for 3 hours so thought I'd catch up!)

"When you reach up for the Lord’s power in your life with the same intensity that a drowning person has when grasping and gasping for air, power from Jesus Christ will be yours. When the Savior knows you truly want to reach up to Him—when He can feel that the greatest desire of your heart is to draw His power into your life—you will be led by the Holy Ghost to know exactly what you should do.

When you spiritually stretch beyond anything you have ever done before, then His power will flow into you. And then you will understand the deep meaning of words we sing in the hymn “The Spirit of God”: The Lord is extending the Saints’ understanding. … The knowledge and power of God are expanding; The veil o’er the earth is beginning to burst.

I know that I have definitely been stretched beyond anything I have every experienced over the past few months. I'll share my story more in the coming weeks, but I've definitely felt that drowning, and grasping and gasping for air and I have felt His power and love flowing into me. I've needed it on almost a daily basis for 106 days. I'm so grateful to know that He is there, He does hear my prayers and even though I've been through my own Gethsemane, I have been able to draw so much closer to Him in the process, and for that I am eternally grateful. 🙏🏻
